    Was watching that earlier.
Pretty cool to think that after all this time we still haven't found everything or know everything that lives and breathes on our own planet.

I for one welcome our new rodent overlords :pac:.

(sorry, it's a zoology related news story. It cannot not be done).

What I found cute and a bit sad.. was how tame Mr. Rat was, they caught him, but he just 'stayed' there, cleaning his nose very casually. Obviously not conditioned to fear humans.

Oh The_Minister, that rat gets bigger every time you tell that story.

Anyway, it's interesting to see that they found a few new speciesthat weren't insects. The 'henamo grunter,' nice. It's nice to see an animal that isn't afraid of humans. I'd love to go to there and see some of these animals.

the dodo was the same, just sat on ground while the explorers just lifted them up and cooked them :(

thats the animal that becomes extinct first, animals like deer have it inbuilt into them to fear humans and run away, they will never go extinct

I could pick up that rat and cuddle it.

I'd say now the place is known, there's all sorts of ***** looking to hunt/trap those animals to sell as pets/ornaments

lol, I hope no one tells Bear Grylls about this place. He'll come for the trip but he'll stay for the lunch.

Anyway I think it's a cool discoverery. I hope there are more discoveries waiting to be found. Maybe we might actually find a real life dodo.

Amazing discovery... Let's just see how the introduction of humans to that ecosystem will alter those animals. I'd put money on those rats acting a whole lot differently if humans set up camp there for long

No he won't, there's no cushy hotels just behind the camera for him to stay in once the cameras stop rolling.

The Dodo was unique to an island which we have completely explored.

They are all dead. even Timmy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,995 ✭✭✭Sofiztikated

If we had them here, can you imagine them breeding with the scummy knacker rats, you know the ones that you can imagine wearing burberry hats and gold chains, that we get?

    Doesn't bear thinking about!!
