Exactly what it says on the tin - favourite drinks.

Mine is a very recent addition and is actually the cheapest that I have come across. Its called perlenbach and its available in Lidl for 5e and yeah it was the price that attracted me poor student that I am. Its brewed in germany in accordance with the german brewing law and is absolutely lovely with a very dry aftertaste not unlike grolsh.

So what about the rest of you? Bonus points for anything unusual!

When I'm out I'll drink any number of things, often to my detriment tbh.

When I'm having a few at home and have a choice then, nothing nicer than a nice cold Sam Adams Boston Lager. There'll also always be a bottle of Jim Beam in the house as well as a good vodka.

Smithwicks if pub, Jameson and Coke if club or just out for the night.

At a house party then whatever beer is going.

The german beer purity law has been repealed for quite some time now.

However, many German beers, for marketing purposes, continue to declare that they abide by the rule, to reassure customers that only the three permissible ingredients are used.

I'll have a Becks if yr going to the bar... ;)

Havana Club is wonderful, a real +1 on that.
I drink everything really depending on the circumstances. Long hot day after golf then it has to be cider. Late at night at home, whisky. Clubbing is G&T's in strange venues or cocktails if I know the staff are capable of making them well...love mojitos and martinis.
Guinness in a pub when it's quiet, never when it's busy.

A meal out is an opportunity go have lots! G&T before going to the eatery, sherry apparitief, couple of bottles of red with dinner, port with the cheese, cognac with the coffee and cigars. :)

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

Large Bottles of Guinness and Smithwicks.

The local pub at home has both in stock, I think I'm the only person who drinks them.

Great seeing Havana Club getting the praise it deserves, it's my preferred tipple.

If I'm in a real bar I'll have a proper pint of Guinness.

    In Ireland:
    Beer:
Heineken, Sol, Lech and a few other east european beers
    Short:
Don't drink spirits really - but am partial to a jameson 12 or bushmills 15.

    In Oz:
    Coopers, Little creatures or Bluetongue.
(Mainstream Ozzie beer like VB and XXXX is not half as good)

I like my malted scotch but so far I don't have a favourite...how can you when there are soooo many to choose from :)

I also love real ales and craft beers, particularly dark ales and stouts. I tend to seek out new beers quite a lot although sometimes I admit, I like to down a pint of Guinness, particularly if I'm missing home.

Living in England has it's advantages simply because the choice of beers is so huge.

I don't know enough about wine to really appreciate it but as I've gotten older I find myself liking red wine more than white or rosé.

At Christmas myself and Mrs r3nu4l love to drink a small sherry or glass of port as a nightcap before going to bed :)

At home, 18 y/o Jameson... but very rarely, as it's like injecting me with horse tranquilizers.

When out I usually try to go for cocktails. I like to get drinks I couldn't/wouldn't make at home:

    Top 3:
    1. Mojitos
    2. Strawberry Daiquiri
    3. Waborita

Will usually get a Bellini if they have them, and use real Prosecco instead of just any sparkling white wine.

Guinness or Jameson (with no ice!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 724 ✭✭✭shapez

    Southern Comfort & Ginger Ale
    or
    Canadian Club & Ginger Ale.

At home I love to drink beers form Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, etc.

Jim Beam all the way. Lot of pubs don't have it though, so I'll either go for JD or pints of Smithwicks or Guinness depending on mood/money.
