Except for when you've been eating variations of turkey for two weeks after Christmas day. Turkey curry. Turkey sandwiches. Turkey stir fry. BBQ turkey. Turkey tagine. Turkey fried turkey.

I don't like turkey. I've been forced to eat this bland meat every christmas (and for the weeks after). When we go to visit friends inevitable I'll hear "You had goose for dinner, gahhh here you need to eat TURKEY instead" and I get handed a slice of dry turkey meat on a slice of white. Hell on Earth.
This year I plan to have a roast rack of lamb...sadly plan is as far as I'll get as we have family coming over to stay and I'll be told in no uncertin fashion the only turkey will fit the bill.
(Shakes fist at Familys For Christmas) Grrrrrr

NEVER buy a turkey that has that much left overs. But we all have to learn the hard way! :p

Indeed. I've hated turkey for 29 years. I'll be in Australia this time and there'll be two of us, my girlfriend's a chef and the chances of having turkey will probably be... 50/50 :(

I went to Australia one christmas and I thought I'd finally have a christmas free of turkey. I mean who the hell is going to do a full traditional roast christmas dinner in the middle of the Australian summer? My fookin sister thats who! The mad bint decided to honour us all with a family christmas just like the ones we'd have as kids. Arraghhhhhhhh:eek:

Chefs are modern day Pirates, they stay out late, they get the best food, they get the best drink, they get the best wimmins, they get the best drugs, they play with fire, they have scars and they have knives...at least thats what Anthony Bourdain says.

I lived in newquay for 6 months i saw my fair share of the best drugs, best food, but theres a problem with that dinosaurs theory he cooks Haute....

Is'nt that what dinosaurs cook
    :pac:

Oh and some interesting women :D
who are we to doubt him OG. Bourdain is a bit of legend. Think we could get him in for a Q&A on the forum

He is in deed but his OLD SCHOOL cooking is just plain boring...
but I'm a fish chef apparently this means I'm boring uninteresting and not very cool :pac:

I never rated him as a chef but he does write a very entertaining story. Perhaps I'll suggest Kitchen Confidential for the Book Club reading list.

So who is New School then? Heston?
The science geek in me is enthralled by Heston and his de-construction and re-construction of classic dishes. Anyone who has a kitchen full of test tubes, bunsen burners, Florence and Erlenmeyer flasks and has an Aspergers level of attention to detail is stunningly good entertainment.

No, not reading them in poor ol' Will Smiths voice, I just think it's hilariously well done, right down to the sig and tagline.

I would love to photoshop on your hair onto this; avatar47003_4.gif

To be honest I think Heston Is Ott great Ideas but f**kin hell he really makes things complicated... I don't think there is one, as such. There's a lot of good chefs out their but collectively. I wouldnt say its new school best "celeb chef" would be the hairy bikers :D there funny. They cook everything and anything..

There's that uzi food photographer his foods quiet freash and almost clinical. I would say :)

My income doesn't match up my social status and extravagant lifestyle. I refuse to lower my standards therefore I need to earn extra income...or resort to crime. I may have to write a novel. Or  combine the two and write crime novels.

The Return of the Hard Boiled Dectective Story.
A story of gritty realism and Noir passions, molls and dolls, gats and gangsters...
The clock ticked it's inevitable tick and Bradly Snedgemire hunched his broad shoulders against the cold driving rain knowing that he may be watching the appartment for hours yet. Of all the rain soaked alleys in all the world he had to choose this one...
