i think hes trying to say our CM players are worthless

Its hilarious. the one time we got the ball down and passed it, we scored

lol, dunphy shows his knowledge. Claiming mcgeady is definsively frail because he got two yellow cards at hibs last week and got sent off.
I think you misinterpreted what he said. He was actually defending his 'frailty' and used the sending off as an example.

    WOOF!!

Paddy power sayin it's a loser though

€1.50 To Win - Single Internet 1 Cyprus v Ireland
    Ireland 2 - 1
    20/1 Lose €0.00 €0.00

just go to live help and ask them to look into it

pp made a mistake, they did something like that with me once too

TO'D: "Why do you think we lost the midfield?"
TRAP: "It was a little bit warm."

It sounded like he said he's ''too scared to resign''.

It's the FAI, not the mob.

sign of a competent team- we played terribly, esp in midfield, but managed to stick it out for the win.

Still not likely to go through though, unless we manage to beat the Italians in croker!

He said he wasn't defensively frail because he got two yellow cards at Hibs. I know I know one of them was for diving but just said I'd clear that up

    Blessed+!

    Good result bad performance.

Second place pretty much confirmed but top of group possible if Bul take a point off Italy and we beat them in Croker

This will not happen with Whelan and Andrews in midfied. S Reid will be back

awful performance, lack of centre midfield BUT great result.
Trap knows we got lucky tonight and he has a lot of work to do before the crunch games at home in Croker.

It was defo a case of got the result now get the hell out of here.
Keane is dragging us through this group with some very important goals, he hasn't been playing well but he's doing what you want your striker/captain to do and score the goals to get you the points.
That's 40 goals in 92 caps with 5 in 8 in this qualifying group quality record no matter what way you look at it.

We need a draw on Wednesday to have a chance of winning the group and to also put Bulgaria out of the runing for 2nd spot
    http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/soccer_tables_worldcup2010.html

Bring on the Italians at Croker where with the usual rising to the under dog status we can get the win i believe to put us in with that chance of going to the party next June

LOL I love Dunphy. Articulates himself so much better than the other two.

Delighted with the result but not the performance. Whelan was terrible (yet again) and Andrews only slightly better. Agree with the RTE boys in that we looked better with McGeady instead of Hunt. Kilbane didn't **** up - Huzzah!

Mind if we hadn't won I'd be on here unleashing 6 paragraphs of venom on Whelan and Andrews. ;)

Gotta hand it to Trap. He has produced the most dull team ever thanks to the hoofball. But we are getting the results and are in a much better position than I thought we would be in.

If Bulgaria get a draw against Italy - top position will be in our own hands.

    Cock out time.

Diabolical performance. I'm actually astonished we won the game as I really couldn't see a goal coming. There's no Plan B whatsoever. Whelan showed how rubbish he is once again and Andrews wasn't much better. We got out of jail big time.

    Italy match:
Also, Kaladze scores two OGs to help Italy win? Have the Mafia been on to him or something? Very fishy.

    Italy match:
I wouldn't necesscarily say that. One of the Italian defenders nearly hooked a ball into his own net, and going by the highlights that were shown, they looked purely accidental. A teamate helped him up too, I doubt that he would have if there was something improper going on.

You have to love the panel, especially Dunphy. Classic messing there at the end. That's the stuff.

yep the webcast was funny at the end

Dunphey: Graeme would be good on strictley come dancing
Souness: ask my wife, I cant dance
Giles: Your wife... that might be a good idea
    Dunphy: I can sing!

    hahah legends

Trapatonni deserves credit but is a very f***ing lucky general as opposed to a tactical genius some on here are protraying him.

The Whelan and Andrews problem isn't going away - they're still not good enough and if we got rid of one of them for a player who can put a foot on the ball we'd be so much better. They aren't even very good at what they do - literally just marking space whether it's under instructions or what have you.

Richard Dunne remains a pivotal member of the team, however I think he's been showing one or two signs that he's peaked.

    Overall so so relieved.

Hopefully stephen reid will come back fit, problem pretty much solved

I'd cut Dunne some slack for tonight. I think his head is still a bit messed up over the Villa move. I expect him to be much improved for the Italy game.
