125 Motorbike versus 400cc scooter??

Hi Folks,
looking for a bit of advice......
have an option of a 125 vs. a 400cc scooter?

what are the pros and cons?
I'm a fairly big fella so i don't wanna look like a rabbit riding a hamster-:eek:
BUT i prefer the idea of riding a geared bike ...

any ideas,comments much appreciated.

Which bike and which scooter?

How old are you, what licence do you have?

If it was me, and I was younger than I am, I would go for the 125.

id go for the 125 meself. Dont like them big scooters. Why is my text massive hmmm

The 400 will be faster imo, BUT, I'd prefer gears as when you move up, you can't always ride a scooter. Why not get a geared 250? Go second hand and youll get one at the right price.

I'd go with the scooter and start saving immediately for a 500 or 600cc proper bike...

Depends on what you want too though, do you need all of that storage space in the scooter? If so then go for it.

How much money do you have on you? Do you have enough to progress through bikes, how fast will you get "sick" of a bike and want to move on up a little?

If you want to stick to one bike for a while and need the practicality of it then go with the scooter but I'd only do this if I committed to also saving for a proper bike with a view to selling the scoot in time to come.

However, that depends on whether you really want to get into biking or not...

It all depends on what the 125 is. If it's a POS then I'd go scooter, if was decent 125. But why are you limited to there 2 bikes?
