Not saying that we shouldn't claim them:) but are they really Corkonians???

Not sure how much time Boole spent in Cork, but he seems to have died here anyway. Milligan was born in India though, and afaicr he only came to Ireland once, despite his self-proclaimed Irishness. He was a very funny man that I love to watch, but I wouldn't have any pride in him as a Corkonian; he was a nasty little man, and his manic depression was only partly to blame for that.

Better him than Keane though. ;)

LOL. And I remember them selling tee shirts with his face. :D

Singer songwriter Cathal Coughlan and Sean O'Hagan of The High Llamas also both hail from Cork. The opera singers Cara O'Sullivan, Mary Hegarty, Brendan Collins, and Sam McElroy are also Cork born. The short story writers Frank O'Connor and Sean O'Faoláin hailed from Cork. Contemporary writers of national and international status include Thomas McCarthy, Gerry Murphy (poet), and novelist and poet William Wall.

    Or so says wikipedia. ;)
