Lisa knows a girl who's been abused
It changed her philosophy in '82
She's always looking for a fight
She keeps the neighbours up all night

I go to her when I'm feeling slack
The girl's using me as a punching bag
I think that I could help her out
But the girl's got a lot to be mad about

But in the first moment of her waking up
She knows she's losing it, yeah she's losing it
When the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up
She knows she's losing it, yeah she's losing
    Yeah she's losing it

Lisa met Chelsea at the knocking school
Chelsea didn't feel like following the rules
So they left the place for another school
Where the boys go with boys and the girls with girls

Chelsea was the one who's been abused
It changed her philosophy in '82
She says, "Inch for inch and pound for pound"
Who needs boys when there's Lisa round?"

But in the first moment of her waking up
She knows she's losing it, yeah she's losing it
When the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up
She knows she's losing it, yeah she's losing it
She goes to the mirror to put on her stuff
She knows she's losing it, oh yeah she's losing it
When she doesn't speak to anyone till four 0' clock
She knows she's losing it, yeah she's losing it
    Oh yeah she's losing it

So... not sure if it's gonna happen but I am going to attempt some sort of veggie meet-up group / baby unofficial society in UCD. Anyone artistic want to help come up with a logo?! I'm presuming we'll be Veg Soc :)

    Veggie and babies?

There are a couple of bored graphic designers about the place, if noone here volunteers. I will show you where to start blackmailing.

lol, i mean 'baby society' as in not a real society. not a big funded one anyhow!

    good. goooood :D

oh yes, we also have a president of a student society on here. - oh! you must have advice!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,128 ✭✭✭sweet-rasmus

Hmmm, to apply to be a society, you need to submit a mission statement and a constitution. I guess your mission statement is a list of aims etc. (increase awareness about vegetarianism, be a resource to the student body, bring together like minded people), but a constitution... any one any ideas?! hmmm

I thought you were doing a pighead there for a minute. :pac:

I used to help run a soc. I think the SU had a generic constitution. Or else we just copied someone else's.

I don't see why not, barring lack of time! :)

I'm sure theres a few people there, moving out for the first time, who now will have the freedom to become vegetarians if there was opposition at home. Best that they get some good guidance early on. When I first became veggie, I just cut out meat, then gradually found out about what I needed to be careful of. I was lucky to have been surrounded by hippies, otherwise I could have gotten quite run down quite quickly. You could be their veggie mommy :P

Talk to the Students Union, they're usually more than willing to help and advise. Mebbe even throw loadsamoney at ye!

lol! "the freedom to become vegetarian"! True indeed!

Well, I've made an attempt at this constitution.... I have a friend in the Greens Soc thinking of joining with me in this venture, so I shall see what she has to say...

ah, back from the cinema :) (500 days of summer)

I'll meet ya someday Moony! What a world...

The Happer Pear is in fact in Greystones. You can get the DART there or a bus, or a lift with me :) Parking on the main street is free on a Sunday only, so Sundays are great days to go to the Happy Pear :) The place is run by handsome twin brothers :D They do lots of salads, two mains (one always being vegan and gluten free, so I'm generally not impressed - I'm not fond of curry!), and loads of desserts, one of which is vegan. They have all sorts of painting and quotes on the walls - it's quite a cosy and professional place.

Looking forward to seeing some photos taken from the top of the ferris wheel ;)

What's 500 Days of Summer like? I'm somewhat curious about Joseph Gordon Levitt after seeing him in Brick quite recently (very good film by the way...)
This is if I'm thinking of the right film!

yes, we must go soon! i think i was complaining that it was always currys for vegans when i was in last to the guy serving me. i realised after that i think it was one of the owners serving me :o eek! so, can you make the sun shine when we go? it's always more glorious when the sun shines :) who's coming? ;) i'm free pretty much any sunday. i just detest paying for parking, so i avoid it where i can.

Ha, you should watch Brick then if you haven't seen it! I didn't recognise him until half an hour in though, it was strange...

I'll come to this Positive Pear place if it doesn't clash with the super west meet-up that is definitely going to happen :D

    I like curry :)

I challenge anyone to make better use of 'goddamn' thank old jensy does right here!

Congrats on the hair mameeo (I don't know what that's all about really :P) . Lights over the wicklow mountains you say? I'm a big fan of those mountains, one of my fondest dublin memories involves them. Bit crowded for mountains though, bit over-housed too, what's the deal with that? Houses on a mountain? Wouldn't mind living on a mountain myself, but I'd be in a hut though.

Ahhhh, well that doesn't really count, it's not in a song(/jlsadfkj) Those are two very different types of goddamns though, samuel's one is angry, and jens' is all weary and melancholic.

No that poo head was not me. Poo-themed names are actually very popular. I'm normally just "Poo" .
