Lets say a prayer

Bishop of Ferns Dr Denis Brennan has asked that prayers for fine weather be offered at all Masses in his diocese this month because of the difficulties being faced by many involved in agriculture.

Bishop Brennan said the current spell of very bad weather is causing added pain and anxiety to people already under pressure and it constitutes a real threat to the livelihoods and well-being of many in rural areas.

How about offering a prayer to the people who have been made redundant and are on the verge of losing their homes. There won't be an rescue packages for them.

I'm praying that it will start raining hot virgins. I'll get a few jobs out of that and the weather improves.

Be sure to be gender specific in your prayers.

Is there anything to be said for saying another mass?

Some are probably unaware about how badly agriculture has been and is being affected by the bad weather.
Between bad prices, being targeted by the government as the sector to take the biggest cuts in income when already among the lowest income - average income in 2008 was a little over €17k and the bad weather meaning some will not have any winter fodder for animals then it is no joking matter.
Would not be surprised to see suicides......

since it's the bishop of ferns, while you're at it, you should probably pray from the over 100 children sexually abused by priests there. People like that don't deserve sunshine!

What silly talk, who are you to judge him, do you know if he did or did not pray for the victims of child sexual abuse?

    Our lager,

    Which art in barrels,

    Hallowed be Thy drink,

    Thy will be drunk,

    (I will be drunk),

At home as I am in the tavern.

Give us this day our foamy head,

    And forgive us our spillages,

As we forgive those who spill against us,

And lead us not to incarceration,

    But deliver us from hangovers,

    For thine is the beer,

    The bitter and the lager,

    Forever and ever,

    Barmen.

What do us agnostics do for the people? Do we say something really confusing and hope that someone will understand it?

I heard this from my mother. Apparently the Diocese of Kilmore in in the midst of a Pray-a-thon at Kilnacrott abbey. People are praying round the clock to help end the recession in Ireland. I'm ashamed to say my mother is heading there on Friday with a busload of auld wans from the parish

Also, Kilnacrott Abbey is where notorious paedophile priest Brendan Smith is buried. Nice spot.

Well come on, they have to pray for something. Praying for jobs has OBVIOUSLY not worked, so Gob is punishing them. She might be more lenient if the priestmen pray and sacrifice something.

Although, little bit of rain, and they're whinging, sure didn't Moses and they lads have to suffer a flood, and you don't hear didn't them moaning about it, although I'm fairly sure this ark he "built" must've had "foddiners" working on it.

I blame the banks, it's their fault. Or Fianna Fail. They're bound to be involved as well.

Agriculture is practiced on too small a scale in Ireland, hence too low wages. Rural Ireland must move forward and away from a predominately agricultural based economy in order to improve quality of life.

Just imagine where agriculture would be without the CAP.

Also, if people commit suicide because their profession is no longer tenable, that's their problem. Normal people move on.

nope, it's the fault of every muppet out there that was earning 30 thousand a year getting a 40 grand car and a 700k mortgage, thinking they'd be able to pay the banks back.

Apparently the next two weeks will be the best weather we have seen for a while. Somewhat of an Indian summer.

I don't know if I want the period of good weather now, because if it is good it will only allow the delusional gob****es believe their prayers worked.

    Certain politicians perhaps?

Better than fecking everything up to retire with a few pensions.

sure the bishop probably watched the weather forcast before saying mass, and got the eegits to pray for something that he knew was going to happen
