    anyone know wat the story is with a 54 reg uk car wen put on irish plates?? does it become a 04 or 05?

    It depends whether it was registered in 04 or 05.

    54 means it was registered in the 2nd half of 2004 does it not? so it would be a 04 i think.

    A 54 plate would have been anything from the start of september '04 to the end of february '05, so it depends on when it was registered. Ask the seller when this was.

    Contact the garage or do a car check which will give you the HPI details and the reg date and CO2 details
