Nice coffee shops in south dublin

Hi Guys,

Im meeting with an ex of mine for a coffee next week and i would like to take her somewhere nice, is there any nice seaside/garden etc cafe's anywhere in south dublin that you can suggest. Suggestions greatly appreciated. Cheers...

the only one I'd ever recommend would be Dunne & Crescenzi, South Frederick Street off Nassau Street. Excellent coffee and very comfortable and relaxing.

the cake cafe behind daintree on camden street - very nice and excellent for meeting up.

Curve Street cafe, serves Ariosa.. Brick Alley Cafe in temp bar also.. Biroche on Aungier st, Milk+honey, (darwins). Fallon& Byrne, and Bewleys on Grafton depending on barista.

I wouldn't agree with recommendation of Dunne & Crescenzi. Over rated for what it is, a very woody, dirty tasting coffee. sorry

Woody and dirty? Maybe I like woody and dirty then! Perhaps a lot of it is goodwill with me, they did force a lot of coffee shops to up their game when they first opened and I applaud that. That said I hardly ever get an espresso there anymore, it tends to be a longer drinkable latté.

Are you looking to go to south county dublin?

There is a lovely place in monkstown called seagreen.

Or, if you can travel a bit, I would recommend Avoca handweavers in Kilmacanogue. Lovely garden setting. Great food/cakes/coffee.
