How to fold rear seats in toyota avensis

Hi all,
I have an 04 toyota avensis, (saloon), I can't for the life of me figure out how to fold down the rear seats.
There don't seem to be any catches in the boot or on the top of the seats. Nor can I find a chord to pull to lift the bottom seat up and slide em down. The owners manual describe two seat types neither of which seem to correspond to what I observe.

Has anyone overcome the same problem.

As far as I know on the saloon they can't be folded.

Depends on the year of the saloon. The pre 07 does not fold down but the 07 does. Pre 07 has the indicator on the side panels. 07 has indicators on side mirrors for anyone with 07 reg but 06 car body.

mmm.... unless I am missing something Damien, I would guess my 04 toyota is pre 07....
anyway thanks for the help lads...I guess I am out of luck on this one....

models without folding seats:

Avensis 1.6/D-4D Aura 4dr (2003-2006 shape)
Avensis 1.6/D-4D Strata 4dr (2003-2006 shape)

All Luna, Sol, 2.4, Tourer, Liftback, and post 2006 Aura and Strata models get them.

Models with folding rear seat also get a rear armrest.
