Would Kilkenny be a one nightclub city?

Ballinrobe - but you takes your chances ...

Does Carrick-on-Shannon only have 1 real one?

it really depends on your definition of a nightclub, murtaghs have the basement club, Havanas have a disco adjacent to the outside bar that opens at about 11pm and is free in

towns like castlerea (roscommon), ballyhaunis (mayo), ballinamore (leitrim) are all one-nightclub towns

Shannon - Population of over 10,000 and one small niteclub if you can even call it that.

Carlow only has one real one to be fair.

Would "The Foundry" and "The Temple" or whatever their calling it these days not count for 2?

You could do worse than a weekend in Nenagh.

One night club on Kenyon Street. Maximus Nightclub. Lots of bars close by.

    Ballinrobe -

Aahh The Valk I've been in there more than Id like to admit. Its one unique place and always good criac. Probably one of the most modern night clubs in the country since it was done up a few years ago and before that it was basically a shed.

Its great though it doesnt matter how drunk you are its next to impossible to get thrown out and if you fall asleep in there you are left alone to sleep away unlike most places where you get thrown out straight away.

As far as I know Tuam has only one night club. I was in it once and its some dive.

    Bundoran in Donegal!

Go surfing during the day, and then into the town at night. I only remember there being one club, could definitely be wrong on that front though.

    Portlaoise.
Not as 'scumbaggy' as half the places mentioned, few good pubs and 2 or 3 nightclubs, 'Club 23' being the best one by all accounts.

Great thread, I've frequented many of these!
Dingle then Hillgrove = class night out
Carrick -on-S then Swinging Donkey = class
Ballinrobe then Valk = Fight with Polish guy
Virginia then Lakeside = long trek home

The temple is a poor excuse for a nightclub.
    I don't think it qualifies..

The Foundry and The Tower are two parts of the same club. There is some sh|t hole of a nightclub that gets closed down, and reopens under a new name every so often as well...

    =-=

Leixlip has one nightclub, "Zinc". Haven't been in it since it was called the HOzone, so dunno what it's like. The Courtyard, a pub down the road is what I'd usually goto. Usually serves drink until 1:30am, has a band some nights, and some dude playing the piano in the piano room.

zinc is nice, a definate improvement on the hozone, the crowd can be very young though plus they lost their late license so its out the door at 2am.the courtyard is a nice pub.i wouldnt recommend leixlip though for what the guy is after.its just an outer suburb of dublin these days and is taken over by lucan/clondalkin/blanch skangers at the weekend.

maynooth is good.bradys, the roost and oneills all have disco bars.mantra just opened and is a class spot.the beer garden is amazing.

carrick on shannon gets my vote though.myself and my group of mates spend new years there the last few years, dunnes pub then the swingin donkey.anyclub named the swingin donkey is bound to be good and it was!passion is a massive "superclub" on the outskirts but dunno what the story is with it, wasnt opened last new years.was good when it was though.

    The Valk - Ballinrobe.

Not Dodgy, and I wouldnt let one incident of late put ya off.

My vote goes to Roscommon. Went there two weeks ago for a night out and wasnt really expecting much. But I had one of the best nights out! There is some great pubs around the town but I was blown away by The Hollywood. I doubt there is too many pubs round the country better than this place, even the smoking area is of a higher standard than the majority of Irish bars! Probably more suited to a younger crowd though.

The nightclub(s) was Rockfords I think, two nightclubs in one, a band playing in one part and a DJ in the other. The part with the DJ seemed a bit run down but apart from that an epic night.

Dingle is a great spot. As is Clifden.

I would say my home town, Naas, but the nightclub is a bit scummy. It can be ok though.

Don't go to Fermoy... there is nothing in that town. nothing.

Carick on Suir has only one night club. DO NOT ever visit it. Fights almost weekly, several lads ended up in hospital a few weeks ago after a mini riot broke out...Not messing, its crazy town

Only if you go looking for them.
Shows how much you know because nobody calls Portlaoise 'Port', that Portarlinton, Portlaoise is just 'Town' or 'Da Town'.
