I just watched the Red Faction: Guerilla review on lunch today.

That bit where he compared himself to Conan getting revenge because he saved up for a PS2 as a young lad and wasted money on the first game was great.

    Silent Hill 2

SH2 & 3 were awesome. Haven't experienced anything like it since.

Nice to agree with him for once, would have enjoyed it even more hd the storyline not been ruined by a certain retr0ga....player, Retr0player.

Are the other silent Hills even worth my time?

Not really... The Room was ok, but not of the same standard in terms of atmosphere.

    3 is my personal favourite

...And a new form of reviewing was born

    Yahtzee likes porn.

Now that we're done rhyming, did anyone else find it a very boring review? My head actually sank when I realised he was using another gimic. Last week it was a bloody stupid Irish accent, this week a Limerick.

Is it so much to ask for a competent review phrased in a witty manner?

So go read the gazillion other game sites that do bog standard "competent" reviews. Dunno about you, but I make my weekly trip to Yahtzee's corner for his comedy ranting. He's a critic, not a reviewer.

I think it was an excellent review. As he said himself, the game offers pretty much nothing new and isn't even that good. Since the game isn't particularly entertaining, he made the review entertaining instead.

His reviews are becoming fairly generic now, anyway. It's pretty much the same thing over and over again. At least he tried to mix it up a little this week.

And I have to say I was pretty impressed how he made a fairly accurate review in limerick form. I was half expecting him to run out of rhymes halfway and give up, but he made it all the way through.

really good review :D was a bit disappointed though as I was expecting Batman

I had similar thoughts about the gimickyness, but it was still really awesome... Also, after I came across the transcript for the Irish part of the last one, I found out

"I'm also negotiating appearances... at GenConOz in Brisbane."

Teehee... That's next week... I'm in Brisbane... :D

The fact that Wolfenstein was so bland Yahtzee had to reply on the rhyming gimmick was a warning sign for me. It was pretty funny but not of the same quality as his other reviews.
