Congrats to all, and welcome to UL!
Anyone know how many for BBS this year?

There is at least 1 :p

But seriously, there will be in or around 500 doing business, and out of that 50 or so doing BBS with French.
You two will be in the majority of classes together, and there are a number of BBS students who post here regularly, who can give you advice and help.

I'm a UL Electronic Engineering graduate. Was there from 2000 - 2004. We had close to 39 hours of lectures, labs and tutorials per week. But your nights and evenings are always free. Once you get the head down and do a bit of work outside of class you'll be fine and have plenty of time for extra-curricular activities. Word of warning though, there is an awful lot of extra-curricular stuff to do in UL. Sometimes it's easy to forget you're there for an education and not solely to have fun! :D

I'm jealous of all you rookies. I'd love to be starting my course all over again. Best 4 years of my life.

You've gone and scared me now:eek:

I hope Bsc. Electronics is easyer than the engineering version:D

Should be moving in on 30th of August and on campus for the week. You'll be enrolling on one day and there'll be activities from Wednesday on as well as something to keep yourself occupied in the stables too in the evening or maybe an impromptu Orientation Week Boards Beers!

Ah nostalgia, almost makes me miss the place! I'll be back next week for my graduation, one last hurrah then goodbye to the old place. Those 4 years flew by but they were the best.

Enjoy them while you can lads and lassies, best of luck to all of ye.

What happens after the orientation week? Is it straight into classes the following Monday or is there time off? Will many stay in the first week or would most go home?

The following week, or the first week of lectures, is called Freshers' Week. There's generally things on, just not as much as during Orientation Week.

Lectures start the week after orientation week so you won't have any time off. Its important that you attend the first lecture in each module as the lecturer will outline the module objectives, any projects and when they are due as well as when mid-term exams will be on. They will also give a breakdown of the marks going towards the projects and mid-terms. Tutorials and labs then start in week 2/3.

Not sure what you mean by the last part of your question.

not sounding like a lazy ass now but are the lectures difficult when ya start... and is there many projects/work in the early weeks of college:eek:
