Validity of GUI handicap abroad

Hi I was wondering if your GUI handicap is valid abroad? For instance if you came across an open comp in the USA or UK etc is your Irish handicap permissible? I know they have different systems for calculating and adjusting handicaps abroad but just wondered if they allowed ours. Cheers Paul

You definitely can in the UK. Have done it myself. I think your handicap is valid anywhere that uses the CONGU handicapping system.

your handicap will work everywhere but bring a printed out version signed by your club handicap sec.
