Good gig venues in Carlow for ballad band?

Hi all Does anyone know of good gig venues in Carlow town or county for a good lively ballad band? Teach Dolmen & Dinn Ri are two venues I know of but have never been in either at night. Maybe someone can tell me does these pubs draw big crowds? Thanks

the best idea would be to visit carlow some night and check out a few of the venues - theres nothing better than first hand experience of a venue.
