BBC HD - one or two feeds required ?

For some reason I have it in my head that to receive a HD channel you need 2 feeds from the LNB, but I'm looking at a device here which has one input and claims to support HD.

Am I on the wrong track entirely (and you only need 1 input) or is there some clever marketing going on here (like you can receive BBC HD but not see it in HD) ?

You only need one feed but you need a HD box. And a HD tv naturally. What kind of box do you have?

I've got a HD TV (Samsung LE32B530) & a HD box (Mvision HD200) alright. I just think I must have been confused from the start with the 2 feeds thingie. I don't know where I picked it up, but I may has mis-read something.

I've never actually had any HD content to look at till now, so I wouldn't know for sure if I was getting it.

In fairness, the Mvision box does have a little 'HD' icon on screen when I'm looking at what appears to be BBC HD.

So, all looks to be well. I just had my doubts because of the 2 feed thing, but if you definitely don't need it, then that's good enough for me.

2 feeds are for PVR/timeshifting.

Sorted so. As Onikage said, two feeds needed for PVR. Can you get ITV HD on that box?

ITV HD didn't seem to tune in automatically (or I didn't notice it in the 350ish channels that did tune), but I will check later on. "What Satellite" has all the settings for the various HD channels up there, so I will try to tune in to wherever it says ITV HD should be.

Yes you can get ITV HD on the Mvision.

did you hear that the BBC will be showing some Championship games live this season? not many but a few

starting with West Brom vs Newcastle on Saturday at 5.30
I think this will be their first football live in HD so must check it out

when I say it will be their first live football in HD - I mean it will be my first time seeing HD football on the BBC. Not sure if they have done it before.

10 games throughout the season, only. Not a lot but better than nothing i guess! About 1 live game a month! Nice that they'll have it in HD!:)
