    Hi,
My daughter has been offered an unlocked phone from the US.
Will it work here in Ireland.
    Thanks,

You need to find out if it is a GSM phone. If so, it will.

I think Verizon phones are not GSM, therefore not usable in Ireland. There may be others.

    What is the make/model?

if she was offered it - then take it ...worst case it doesnt work !!!

if she was offered it (at a price) - dont bother.

You're correct, Verizon has a CDMA network so their handsets will not work on any GSM network. Sprint are another company who have a CDMA network in the US.

Some tri band phones over there are 850/1800/1900 and will work in the cities and some other places over here but coverage will be very poor.

Where I live I don't think there are any 1800mhz cells

I think it's a safe bet to say it will work.

I don't believe Sony Ericsson make CDMA phones. Correct me if I am wrong. :)

Sony Ericsson only make CDMA handsets for the Asian market, most notably in Japan.

I also agree, it is a safe bet that the W902 should work fine over here on a GSM band or even 3G.
