I'm going back to college in about a month or so and I'm tryna think of where I'm gonna buy a few more bits and pieces for college. I'm a size 18 although it depends on where I buy.

Problem is, I'm féckin sick of paying big money just because I buy big sizes. A tshirt on Simplybe.ie is 45euro and cardigans in evans' are 60+. I buy in new look but in reality, a tshirt, a pair of jeans and a cardigan or hoodie is costing me over 100euro and I can't afford that. Most stuff in Penney's doesn't fit so anybody got any suggestions for cheap and cheerful clothes for the larger lady?

Try eBay - if you know your size in a particular brand, you may be able to find some bargains there.

Tesco do great cardigans for between €6 and €20 up to a size 22. I have also recently bought some clothes from www.littlewoodsireland.com they have some great sales and lovely jeans :)
Also with doroty perkins and evans is cheaper to order online and pay postage rather then their mad exchange rate.

I'm not saying this to be bitchy but why don't you just lose some weight? Plus size clothing appears to be priced more expensively than < size 16 so why be "ripped off"?

One of my friends is a size 20 and swears by Dorothy Perkins.

    Well you still managed it...

I'm not losing weight because I'm happy the way I am, I don't think I should have to lose weight in order to buy nice clothes if I like the way I am, don't you agree? I refuse to lose weight so I can wear the same topshop ****e as everyone else. There are plenty of big women out there, and there should be an affordable way to buy nice clothes, I was simply asking if anyone knew of anywhere else other than the obvious evans/simplybe/newlook etc.

No, my point was just that you'd have a much wider range of clothes available to you at lower prices if you were a size 16 or under.

+1 for Tesco. The one in Maynooth has a great selection of everyday wear in larger sizes, really affordable too!
