MG problem?

yes i know, no need for i told you so but i have a problem with my mg but i am sure i have messed it up myself so that doesn't count, basically the sound fades in and out, any ideas whats wrong with it?

and again i DO NOT want this turning into mgs are crap and you should have bought a better amp thread, i am very worried cause i need this amp for playing gigs and want to find out whats wrong with it

Does it fade in and out consistently or randomly? A power supply problem or a dodgy transistor in the preamp would be my guesses.

Also, MGs are crap and you should have bought a real amp, etc. :pac:

Can't imagine a cable or wiring problem would cause "fading" in any case.

Take it back to the shop under warranty.

it was actually just a dodgey cable but now i can't find which one it is cause even that's working fine, a boy cried wolf situation lol. so ppl can take back what they say about mgs not being reliable until it actually breaks.

my mg50:
1.the fan was as noisy as sh1t (ive seen AVTs with the same problem)
2.The effects unit fecked up, it didnt work 15% of the time
3.Volume on the clean channel would randomly drop, and then go back up

I hope yours doesnt break, but if i was a betting man, id say somthing will go wrong at some stage, espically if you are gigging with it. ALL my problems started when I joined a band, and the amp was moved out of the bedroom twice a week for practice.

Edit: the MG is long gone!

Cante bate the old valvestates for cheap reliability , mines been fecked down stairs and all sorts....
