way back in 2005, I heard that there was a course called "Canadian Studies" in UCD. Was that some sort of a mistake or a joke?

Anyway, when me and my mated heard of it, we had a great laugh.

I remember seeing that module. Seems to be a joke since Canada has zero history, culture, foreign politics and good looking people

I've seen American studies before and Chinese studies. It's no different to international history / politics just with a focus on Canada.

If they did a course on South African studies, I could go for that. A lot of their history is a catalogue of how not to go about things, and it got pretty messy at times. See Blood River.

Lol at someone thinking that Canada doesn't have any history or politics worth talking about when UCD drags out the completely unimportant history and **** stirringly boring politics of Ireland for 3 years

One of my old college mates actually did this as a first year option!

I think there were 10 or so in his class. And they had a lecture based on ice hockey, no joke. I got the impression that all his classmates were doing it just for the laugh!
