Just a quick question....thinking of going to England for a week or so in Sept and was wondering is it just Irish Ferries and Stena Line that ferry between Dublin/Holyhead and Rosslare/Pembroke/Fishguard?

Just want to compare prices etc and these are the only two companies I can think of!

If you have a Tesco clubcard then €10 of Tesco vouchers is worth €40 towards an Irish Ferries or Stena sailing. It's a bit long winded to claim it but worth doing.

You can get from Dublin, Belfast or Larne to the Isle of Man, then from the Isle of Man to Heysham (around Blackpool), Liverpool or Birkenhead (near Liverpool).

I'd say it takes feckin' ages though.

P&O go from dublin to Liverpool, but it is designed for lorries and I have always found it more expensive that stenaline or irishferries.

Has anyone ever used the Dublin to Liverpool Birkenhead route with Norfolk line? I'm thinking of heading to Manchester shortly. I will be a foot passenger. Just wondering is it difficult to get transport to Manchester from Birkenhead. Any tips/advice would be great.

Travelled on the belfast birkenhead night boat, takes 8 hours but you get your dinner and a cabin included in the price.
Not the quickest way to get there but handy to get a nights sleep if you are driving to london or such
