Anyone had a dose of this yet? Was violently sick yesterday evening - thought the toilet bowl was going to shatter

    - Have heard since of a lot of other cases of the same around Limerick in the past few days from neighbours etc.

Symptoms are ~1 hour of nausea followed by a cataclysmic vomit worthy of a scene from the Exorcist!!!

Would like to know what it is and what's the expected duration?!?!?!?!

    Who knows?

Spend €50 and ask your doctor?

My GF was sick this morning and I got sick whilst driving yesterday. Scary experience. Car in Valeters this morning.

No symptoms before or after getting sick. I just got sick for no apparent reason.

I have two small children Berty - this means I spend a good portion of my life handing €50 to a man in a suit who gives every appearance of having less of an idea about the situation in hand than I do.

    - I've noticed recently that GPs are on a winner as when they are really stumped they just play it safe and refer you straight to A&E

Thanks for your reply though - it confirms that there is really something odd in the air. Its also consistent with what I've been hearing - kids playing happily one minute and then arcs of vomit everywhere, followed by them running around happily a few minutes later again seemingly symptom free [?]

    Cough *swine flu* Cough

    Kidding.

Iv been feeling unwell the past few days which is uncharacteristic for me. After lunch in Aubars today i suddenly feel very lightheaded and my mouth all watery like when you know you are about to vomit.

Havnt gotten sick yet but feel slightly ****e.
Apperantly something is going around (when is there not)!! but i never really get sick at all. Boo urns.

Or something in the water

    - Do I get a prize if I am officially the first person to declare Limerick City and surrounds C R Y P T O S P O R I D I C ?

I was joking about throwing €50 at a GP. I dont like GP's as anything too dificult gets sent to a specialist and everything else gets the same prescription as everybody else to the chemist.

Time heals all wounds except for limbs falling off. Even time itself will cure having swine flu. 10 days apparently.

    So which is it?

Although I'm not discounting cryptosporidium, it's quite unlikely, Limerick has the cleanest drinking water in the country.

Can only speak for me! I had mild nausea, just knew something wasn't quiet right - But I'd imagine that if I had been a child I'd have been distracted by running around playing 45 and stuff before - BAM! Splaying every surface in the vicinity with the Monster Puke from Hell :(

    - Yeah I remember how they used to be proud of their water in Galway too :p

Winter vomiting bug is misnamed. Its from both ends. Sounds like you ate something dodgy.
    Can you keep anything down?

If it's gastroenteritis then unlucky for you, horrible dose. My first reaction when reading the OP was a dose of food poisoning, though you'd have the runs with that.

She looked at you and seen what a disgusting snobby coward she was with, and then you looked in the mirror.
    that would explain it.

Yeah - I'm not ruling out the possibility of subtle implantations taking place as part of some evil Alien breeding program......

    - I'm going to be the least shocked of everyone present when some Alien baby breaks through my ribcage for a gawk at Penny's plastic fcuking clock.

That's it I'm issuing an immediate boil notice for Limerick City and surrounds - effective immediately.

The rest of ye - Listen up, if you see anyone drinking tap water, slap it out of their hands and pin them to the ground until help arrives...... We can win this war in a series of pitched battles.

    - AND REMEMBER - ECOLI NEVER SLEEPS. :(

you are right there is a virus. a sickness if you will. but it is not lurking in the taps or in our water system. its on our boards. its in this thread. its your posts. its you Raiser you are the virus;) now stop flooding these boreds with your ridiculous search for something more than a basic vomiting bug experienced by a closed set of people.

i drink the tap water every day. in fact in the opening post nothing was mentioned about water. then further into the thread the diagnoses starts to get jumbled up by you.

so i think your fishing and are on the brink of causing anyone who is a hypochondriac to overreact and start worrying all their hypochondriac friends and start a needless pointless panic. especially when our water IS the best in the country and one of the best in europe.

i thank you for your time good citezens. now be careful use protection and dont read Raisers posts:D

    P.S sorry in advance Raiser:P

P.S.S please mods dont ban me:mad:

Fcuk it! Paulie is delirious already..... That's what the pressure of a SSPV outbreak does to a kid who once thought he was man enough for the front lines

Never thought about fishing until he mentioned it though; probably best avoided with all the water borne e.coli around

    - Going by the below images from just a few moments ago - its definitely best to put your personal hygiene on hold for 6 weeks or so also - Better to be malodorous than dead - FACT.

P.S. Mods - Paul Leg End called me a Virus - is there something in the Charter whereby he gets waylaid and physically beaten or something?

Hmm, a family friend who is close to someone in the council has pretty much said to try not drinking much water from taps if any over the next while, off to Tesco for cheap bottled water I go

i've noticed a strange taste off water in house for the last week..

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,929 ✭✭✭Raiser

Well I'm afraid my boil notice thread has been locked while Limerick City and County Council spend a few more days calculating the pros and cons of responsibly informing the public at large of the risks in drinking E.Coli contaminated water.

    - Or if you want to read between the lines - they are busy right now covering their arsés, hiding evidence and finding some way to spin this so that they don't look stupid and reckless.

For the moment all I have to say is - know your enemy

    Wikipedia Page

    - For those of you who thoguht I was just talking shíte all along - you were right in a way; E.Coli in mains water is usually an indicator of fecal contamination :(

i think the charter says something about you now owning my first born or something:D

but seriously EVERYONE right now there is nothing at all wrong with the water. NOTHING.................

"Drinking bottled water has become very popular but the water from the tap has to undergo far more stringent tests than bottled water. Tap water supplied by Limerick City Council consistently passes the water standards set by the European Drinking Water Directive of 1998. Limerick City Council Laboratory staff carry out over 25,000 tests per year to look for over fifty different substances. Independent checking of drinking water quality is carried out by the Mid Western Health Board. "
    http://www.limerickcity.ie/OurServices/WaterServices/

    more tests than bottled water

if you turn your taps on in the morning you may get a funny taste but that is from either the taps(as in the pipes) or cleaning crap they put in the water. what i do advise and always have is to leave your tap run for a minute before drinking. its that simple.

i thank you all once again and Raiser why dont you try to show real pictures or evidence

    E. coli found in bottled water: FSA
    http://www.rte.ie/news/2008/1117/water.html

just one headline back in 2007 showing that the bottles arent safe:D IN fact companies are not forced to test bottled water for any bacteria what so ever!!!!!!

should we stop drinking bottles forever too and just drink and use lemonade for everything....... o wait lemonade made with water as every other drink!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,929 ✭✭✭Raiser

You won't be on here yapping about bottled water when those babies are zipping around your intestines like maggots on a 6 week old corpse Mr. Leg End. You'll be curled up on the ground and screaming for your Maker to take you back off this Earth.

Anyhow - I'm not telling anyone to run out and buy bottled water - just boil your own tap water for a while as a precaution - seems like sensible advice to me.....

    - If you listen real close, you can actually hear the little fcukers screaming when the water hits ~96 Degrees Celsius :p
