What do you miss about being a child?

Going into restaurants etc and never having to pay,Dustin when he was the funniest thing ever,not knowing what a calorie or saturated fat was and thinking you were rich when you had a fiver.

That's one thing i DON'T miss about my childhood! My brothers used to use me to test the "tombstone" and other such delightfully painful wrestling moves!

Falling asleep when you were brought in to town, and then waking up the next morning tucked up in bed.

This also goes for falling asleep on the sofa and being carried up to bed!

I miss getting my packed lunch for school, which would usually consist of corned beef sandwiches in mc closkeys bread and they would be wrapped up in the mc closkeys bread paper and 2 chocolate digestives on top of the sandwiches, when you opened it at lunch time it tasted delicious.

I really miss the childhood magic of Christmas, mu mum making the cakes and Christmas puddings a couple of weeks beforehand, the decorations and tree magically appearing overnight, all the Christmas specials on the TV beforehand, eagerly waiting for the bumper edition of the RTÉ Guide to see what the big movies would be, Top of the Pops Christmas Number One.

Then Christmas Eve when my dad would finish work and be home early. The food being prepared for cooking the next day, general bedlam in the house and then finally bed and waking up with Santa's present left at the end of the bed.

I miss all that.

Penny sweets that were actually a penny in those big jars, woppa bars, fruit salad bars, chewits, top of the pops, tip the can, grass fights, holidays in wexford in a caravan, Haven and the tiger club, holidays in a caravan in france every year, getting the ferry, tranfer tattoos, Brownies, being tucked up/kissed goodnight by my mum or dad, santa and Christmas magic, riding bikes and rollerblading....i could go on

One thing I don't miss is the fact that everytime you fall as a kid you end up getting stones stuck in the palm of your hand. What was the story with that? It hasn't happened to me since I left primary school and I've fallen plenty of times since then.
