    cant figure out how to use this app anyone have a tutorial?

    Open the CoverCollector.ini file in notepad.
    Change the 4th line to the path where your movies or TV shows are:

    dirs=H:\movies

    If you want to do movies and TV Shows change it to the following:
    dirs=H:\movies|H:\TV Shows

    Run the program and then click on scrape down the bottom left. It's a great little program. It's crashed for me a few times though if it can't find a cover, I just got the cover myself then.

    Are you able to plug in a classic iPod into this and access any media stored on the HDD area of the iPod? (i.e. not syncd music or videos)

    Just FYI, that's not a passport, it's a big 3.5" hard-drive (needs its own power supply).

    If we say the WD HD Media player is €93 (on Komplett), it means you're paying around €72 for a 3.5" 500GB drive. That's not really that good...you'd do better if you want.

    Is that generally enforced? I must have smashed the download limit over the last month although a friend of mine with BT has had his download speeds limited to 5kb/sec for breaking the limit.

    As far as I know you order it from their website and elect, rather than delivery, to pick it up yourself from their depot (in Blanchardstown if memory serves). I think it's just a collection point though, i.e. you can't walk in and buy something.

    Hi just to let you know there is a Firmware update for this product, Version 1.02.07: They have added a jump feature to the remote: While fast forwarding or reversing, if the “Next” or “Prev” buttons are pressed, video will jump 10 minutes in the respective direction plus plus there is a display folder for JPG for video, photos & music. Plus lots more. This is a class little devise. :-)

    I like mine but would LOVE it if it had the following:

    * Ability To Create Playlists
    * The ability to shuffle music videos on a per folder basis.......

    1. Komplett with pickup seems to be the cheapest way of getting hands on this, if I'm not mistaken ?

    2. Wanted to also combine this with the WD My Passport Elite 500GB, but Komplett don't seem to do this ?

    Options ?

    I asked this before and got a rap on the fingers from the mods! I would be interested in meeting up with my 1TB in tow and swapping with anyone that is trying to build up their HD collection.....

    Please don't rap me for this one mods ;-)

    Yep, please cease discussion of "such things" now.

    It's not the first time it's been mentioned in this thread.

    I have to say I am delighted with this little device, it has changed the way I watch tv. The same can be said of Sky+.

    I recently picked out a new tv for my parents (Samsung 6 Series) and it has usb plug and play. It works similarly to the WDTV except there is not box. It's made me want a new tv so the WDTV might end up on adverts.ie

    So let me get this right....you're so happy with the WDTV that you're gonna sell it? :confused:

    I think he means that while the WDTV is excellent it still involves having a box under your tv - and the Samsung can do it internally hence the preference.

    I'm not sure if the Samsung can handle as many formats though?

    id have to agree + u would still have to hook up a hard drive and the interface probably wouldnt be as good!

    Anyone notice how the newer TVs are starting to include usb ports with media playing chips now? It won't be long before all these external devices are extinct. After widgets comes an integrated web browser, wifi and ethernet, integrated flash drives with time-shift recording.... And thats not even mentioning freesat, freeview, etc. Why don't they just add a net-top and have one of the sources as 'PC' ?

    Got this from Komplett, but the My Passport stand wasn't in the box - do they not include this any more ?

    It never came with it.. it's sold seperately AFAIK.

    EDIT: Actually.. no, you're right. It appears to have came with it at some point (http://hothardware.com/News/Western-Digitals-New-WD-TV-HD-Media-Player/):
    Although it is designed as a companion for My Passport drives (it even includes a My Passport stand)

    Another Boards thread about it here
