UK Channel Line up on ex-Sky box?

My mother is an ex-subscriber to Sky, i.e. she had it and cancelled but kept the dish and the Sky box.

One day last week during the really nasty weather, the channel lineup changed to an all UK thing with the BBC and ITVs etc occupying the 100s. It reverted the following morning.

She liked that because she doens't get RTE1-TG4 anymore without an aerial as these are not FTA and the Services/Extra Channels thing is cumbersome and they self-erase for some reason from time to time.

Is there any way to permanently change your (ex)Sky channel lineup to a UK FTA lineup?

There is some trick with the Sky Card, stick it in upside down I think. Someone will know.

my box will load up the UK epg if i power it up without a card inserted, i think the method might vary though depending on which model you have.

just remove the viewing card. This will give you the default EPG,
BBC1 BBC2 ITV etc on 101,102,103,

Thanks guys, it worked - after turning the thing off, removing the card, (I had to plug it out as well though) plugging it back in again, it now has a UK channel line up

Do you get the BBC3/BBC4 and the ITV +1 channels.
What about channel4 and the other 4's. On the EPG I mean, not the other channels list.

If I could butt in for a second

I have an old Sky box left over after we upgraded to Sky+, (It has no card now obviously)
If I were to hook it up to the sat, which now has a quad lnb, and leave the card slot empty, will I have the English (London?) EPG.
