    Hey,

I was just looking up this course on the DCU website. I was just wondering if anyone has done the course and what they thought of it. Also, did you manage to get work out of it when finished?

    Cheers

I did this course this year. It's a good course and gives a very good grounding in IT. You will either love it or hate it depending on yourself.

However there is a lack of commitment on DCU's side, beware it's a total cash cow for the college.

Some lecturer's i.e. (Advanced Programming with John McKenna) don't bother teaching you at all, just put powerpoint slides from the book on the web. This was a big let down as it's definitely the most difficult module on the course.

For this reason look around at either UCD or Maynooth.

Other than this it's pretty good. I think you won't get a job directly from doing this course but it does open doors to many other courses and could help if accompanied by a relevant undergrad degree.
