Cycling the four cardinal compass points in Ireland

Hi,

The plan had been to do Malin Head to Mizen Head (M2M) in September.

Then it turns out that Mizen Head is not the most southerly point on the island. That's Brow Head a few kms away. In finding that out, we discovered that the most easterly point is Burr Point on the Ards peninsula and Garruan Point on the Dingle peninsula is the most westerly.

So......the plan now is to cycle between all four points over the course of a week.

Day0 Travel from Dublin to Portavogie
Day1 Portavogie to Castlerock (via Burr Point), 150km
Day2 Castlerock to Lifford (via Malin Head), 130km
Day3 Lifford to Leitrim, 125km
Day4 Leitrim to Gort, 160km
Day5 Gort to Blennerville, 130km
Day6 Blennerville to Killarney (via Garruan Point), 155km
Day7 Killarney to Brow Head (via Mizen Head), 130km
Day8 Travel back to Dublin

Just shy of 1,000 kms over the week, or 135km a day. Average speed of 20- 25 kph will mean 6-7 hours cycling a day, with a few more hours added on for sight seeing and food!

So early starts and hopefully finish late afternoon everyday, with a creamy pint of something.

Not too many hills until we hit Kerry. I'm hoping we'll be getting fitter as we go. I'll be pulling a BOB trailer too
