    Hi

I have a virus, well i think it is, where when i boot up windows vista, it boots ok until just after the desktop loads, then the screen goes black, all you can see it the mouse.

Now i have run lots of anti virus software, adaware, clam, smith, from a hiren 9.8 boot cd but nothing seems to work.

any help on what to do next would be great

    thanks
    gene

Possibly not a virus at all. Maybe your video-driver is corrupted or isn't loading properly. I'm not too familiar with Bisto, but try to see if there's a "vga-mode" in the boot options. If so try that. If you can get the machine to give you some kind of display you can then try to repair or update your video drivers!
