I have always thought it would feel great handing in my notice but I'm really dreading it. And the worst thing is I never know when the boss is going to be about either. Hopefully tomorrow. Are you taking any time off before you start gv?

6min mile is a seriously good run teg. you should breeze the fitness side of things at gv with that.
im doing the half marathon in newtownards on 3rd july. dreading it but im sure getting to the end is a nice feeling. im averaging about a 7.5 / 8 minute mile over ten which is the furthest i've run without almost dying. hoping to get through the last 3 miles on grim determination lol

good call on the fitness though, one less thing to worry about and as you say, means you can concentrate more on the studying

Are any of us July ones meeting up before SID? Think Given was looking into it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 536 ✭✭✭integra1

    Fellow Julyians:

I know I won't have my P45 for the first training day as you don't get it until after your current employer pays you for that month and my July pay comes after our start date. Is anyone else in same boat? PSNI have asked we bring P45 on our first Sunday's training...but I won't have mine, hope they are ok about it
    Anyone similar position?

Dude, You have to bring the documents with you on your SID. The letter from the guy says so at the bottom. It also says proof of national insurance number, this could be your p45 or in your case your p60? You should have recieved your P60 at the start of June (due to tax year ending) if you havent got this then your national insurance card or payslip showing your national insurance number would be ok.Hope this helps.:)

P.S Given messaged me saying would i be up for a night out with a few others but he hasnt let me know where or when yet? If you want to arrange a night out i would be up for it! let me know.

Why cant you just use you National Insurance Card?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 536 ✭✭✭integra1

Yes mate I'd be up for night out. I read that about P45 for SID but is that not just for proof of National Insurance number, I don't think you have to have P45 for SID - just proof of Nat Insurance number will do, no?.You need P45 for the first training day but is anyone else not going to have theirs for starting I want to know as they have just changed employers?

    cheers

lol National insurance card is fine. Its for id purposes, the P45 when starting is so payroll can get your tax code right and dont end up taxing you a crap load!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 536 ✭✭✭integra1

Yes, my own employer gave me a P46 today which stops them giving you an emergency Tax code until P45 Arrives, hopefully stopping them taxing me a sh*t load! I should be fine - I hope...

Sorted, rang Appts to check.Just let them know when you get there if any diffs in getting documentation and P46s should be available once at GV also...sweet to el beat!

Coming in for SID at the start of July, cant give exact date on here but its a monday! Cant wait to see you all, any idea what colour we are gonna be? What all does the SID entail? The pack doesent give u much info, it doesent even mention salary or NI Allowance, all it talks about is student regulations, sickness, and business interests lol.

Now if I told you too much it would be no fun for u you on intake Sunday, I will never forget my first day. It was so crazy, Just be prepared for anything.

You lot will be the new Green's.
