Newhaven is at the top of Hamlet Lane on the North end of Balbriggan. It is a private estate of houses and apartments. It is a place with the potential to be a great neighborhood. It is currently experiencing a few problems with three houses which are rented out.

Cheers, I moved out of Balbriggan 12/13 years ago, the size of the place has exploded in that time.

I dont know much about newhaven but its not a good idea to advertise the problems so publically there. Especially if the houses are private. If they are public council then your just adding to the stigma,

I live on the Hamlet Lane side and all is good. I live around the big green and you get kids there playing football but I have no issues with this. It dose seem to be a bottle neck of a meeting place for teenie boppers from time to time but nothing to worry about. We have been here since 2005.

You'd get an answer quicker if you contacted the residents' association directly. I'd be delighted to think that they read this forum regularly, but probably not.

If you are having difficultly finding out who is on the Residents Association, ring Balbriggan Garda Station and leave a message for the attention of the community Gardaí. There have been a lot of changes with the community Gardaí in Balbriggan, and who looks after what estate has changed. Also they do not work in twos anymore - only individually. But if you leave a message, someone will get back to you. The other alternative will be to write in c/o the Superintendent, and your query will be passed directly to someone to respond to you. I seen Tommy's business partner around on Sunday with some other guy. I wonder are they going to cut the grass soon.;)

not to sound glib about it, but should you not have asked about the allowed parking spaces when agreeing to rent the property? Personally I wouldn't have an issue with you using visitors spaces, it'd be no skin off my nose, but things like that do really irritate some people, and the last thing you want is them complaining to your landlord. Perhaps choose the visitors space furthest away/least used/ least conspicious....that way at least you are not rubbing anyones nose in it that you are using the spaces.

I meant use the kind of random ones that are not exactly beside anyone's property. Dunno if there are any of these in Newhaven, but in our estate there are a few visitor spots around the corner that aren't in front of anyone in particular's house, they face a green area, and are generally empty anyway. If there is somewhere like that perhaps park there? Or are there any neighbours who haee 2 spots who only have one car? maybe approach them nicely and ask if they would mind if you park there. Of course, tell them you will be happy to park elsewhere if they have visitors or whatever, but when its unused they might let you use the space.

sure a letting agent will tell you anything to get you to sign a lease. Next time, rent somewhere with 2 spaces and make sure its specified in the lease agreement!
