    closed down mate defo oh hey did i mention i was in the fabulous little city of KILKENNY 2 weeks ago the knick knack shop is gone can you believe it DEFO CLOSED DOWN

    Doesn't really matter,

    either way the owner has probably f**ked off owing suppliers and staff thousands.

    A pub on the other hand is Locked.

    Closed down comes from the ancient latin "closeducus downicus" which means the shutters closed, we;re closed, **** off.

    Closed up, comes from the old moyross slang for a drive by e.g:

    "I closed that ****er up sham"
