wow ... i didn't realise that people get such big presents and bribes to do well in the junior cert. i studied hard for the exams because i wanted to well for myself ... not for money or possesions.

afterwards though my mam and dad said that they are going to get me something because i tried so hard ... they only mentioned that to me though once the exams were over. and its not bribery

In my day it was the Inter.Cert.Came home from exam, was fed quite well, then asked/told to cut the grass, was told "well done" on both counts and given a few shillings for the cinema. No fuss,no complaints..happy with that

My mom said she'd give me €100 for every A I get... I didnt argue:D

She clearly doesnt know about CSPE. She also said I'd have to pay her for a C/D, but I'm fairly sure she was joking

I got a bike a while ago but I'm not sure if that counts because I needed it on account of living in the middle of nowhere with parents at work all day and no possibility of getting a driving licence any time soon... Damn the age limit.

:pac: I know a girl who is getting a thousand euro if she gets fairly decent grades in the junior cert.
My cousins got a car and then didnt bother saying thank you, ruined my chances. I dont mind though I want good grades for myself :D

My parents just kind of assume I'm going to do well. They did their Junior in the days when it was the Inter Cert - and they had to do Group Cert too. So they're kinda out of the loop with this kinda stuff.

I do have friends whose parents are gonna give them €100 for an A in Honours Maths but don't care about anything else. Luckyluckylucky

Considering the material rewards today, think I'll go back to school...then again who's gonna be the patron?By the way ,the Dept.of Ed.believe in encouraging Junior Certs so they're generous in the grades' area. The L.C.is a different ball game though.Happy pickings!

I got to go into town today and buy a skirt that was a fiver instead of 15 quid.

I am just after doing most of my exams and I worked very hard to get good grades and I hope I will get them.Anyway,in my school, people are getting 50 euro for every honour etc. and other peopl getting 600-700 just for passing everything.Personally I find this ridiculous because these people did not put any effort into their exams and do not deserve to b rewarded.I myself am not looking for any rewards, just the reward of the fact I trie hard and done my best without any bribes.

Jeese in Leaving Cert. now, and don't remember ever getting anything for my junior. By the rates loads of you are paid, I'd have been rolling in it!
The most I'm getting even for the Leaving Cert. is a new phone, and to be honest I'm delighted!
I do have a car already (my sister paid for it herself, and gave it to me when she upgraded. It was not a bribe, it's so I can drive to college next year.), but I would feel soo guilty if my parents gave me one for exams. Your not doing it for the money or the presents, it's about being happy yourself.
