As Masada just pointed out as we look at this, its not all bad. At least if you strip off all the s**t and throw away the P90, you have some s**t you can use on other guns. With a standard P90, all you can do is throw it away and be left with nothing.

Replace the p90 with an m4 and Richie will have his new collectors piece :D

    me like

First thing I noticed when I looked at that images was not "hey, she's cute" or "cool, a robotic arm", it was "with that budget you'd think they'd have actually made the robotic arm in proportion". I hate crap like that, ruins films for me. That robotic arm is a solid 6-8inches longer than her other arm, all because they weren't arsed making a decent shroud.

This is why I can't watch films with people. I tear them apart for inconsistencies.

That's why they put you in that padded cell.

Now, if only they would tighten your straight jacket you won't be able to use your i-phone to post these things up on boards :D

I'd say you love aeroplane films for this exact same reason, con air fan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

I hate aircraft films especially for the same reason. Aircraft seem to have a miraculous Tardis effect on camera since there's enough room on them to have full on wars one minute, and the next you couldn't swing a cat because the roof is so low.
There are exceptions. Air Force One is ludicrous but it's purely a cheesy movie so it doesn't count. Same for flicks like Shoot 'em Up and Transporter. The ones that try to be serious are the ones that usually make a complete hash of it.

Executive Decision is a perfect example.

Its a lot like any film involving guns with an airsofter watching it.

Fingers on triggers, slides locked back on supposedly loaded pistols, winding wheels on mags at times :D and general tom foolery when it comes to technical accuracy.

It is wonderful fun though to truly rip a film apart, especially if it has no real redeeming characteristics, it just serves as criticism fodder.

It also really makes you appreciate the ones that get it right, and you can even tend to forgive other failings then, like plot, characters, and all the other superfluous film elements to nice props and correct gun handling.

The guns thing I've been doing for ages too, that's often too easy. Most of what I see, flaws wise, are props or set issues. More than once I've seen fantastic glaring errors that have ruined the whole experience for me. That picture of the Terminator chick is just another one. I honestly couldn't sit down and watch that film now without looking for similar prop design issues.

What also annoys the hell out of me is making up something that looks ridiculous, and may even look good in it's ridiculousness, but telling everyone that it's something that actually exists and is, in truth, nothing at all like the prop nor anywhere as extravagant in it's operation. I can't remember what I saw it in, but there was a Tokamak reactor shown in some movie as a power source for a facility. It was about the size of a small car and everyone was in wonderment of the ability for something so small to power all that it did. Problem is, I heard more than one of my mates walk away from that saying "they're real, why don't they use them if they're so small and easy to use". Although, anyone who believes things they hear in films probably deserves the misinformation.

Preditor 2, a guy firing an AUG with no magazine in it. nuff said.... lol

That was certainly the most implausible part of that film, yes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

That film had some doozies. I mean, there's no way the Predator could have been using that stealth cloaking and firing that shoulder cannon so much without recharging at least once.

Well, unless he was using Li-Po...

That would explain the size of the explosion at the end of the first Predator movie, alright.

I thought that was from him using that crappy TLP he had strapped to his arm.

come to think of it, when he was about to blow up at the end of the first movie, he did sound a lot like a TLP charger actually....

    :D

Sh1t! I'm sitting beside one as I type this.
I've never had any problems with mine. That being said now I think I might use the charger on a tiled floor instead of carpet :(.

They killed two of my batteries, one of which was only a month old.

And that bloody beeping would annoy the dead.

Was watching The Matrix Reloaded the other night.

And the bit where he is in the main atrium and all the dudes open up on Neo and he just stops the bullets midair, I noticed in that scene there is a HK 416, HK G36c, HK UMP and a number of AR rifles.

Yet every bullet that came at him was the exact same, and all 9mm..... I may be wrong but I think I'm right.

The funny part is I made a point of mentioning it allowed and got flung off the couch by the misses.

Then again she pointed out how a Terminator's armour couldn't be pierced with a NATO round....now I do not think shes knows theres different nato callibres, but it really only matters that

    A) It proves she listens to me when I **** on about airsoft
    B) She knew an armalite fires nato rounds

What more do you need in life, if only she could play WoW....

(Cue disgruntled murmurs from other married airsofters)

Thankfully I've got years to find a girl nerdy enough to find my hobbies interesting:cool:

    O yeah

And literally any Steven Segal film is generally ****ing ridic with gun stuff and bloopers.

And I think Richie will agree, the big in Lethal Weapon 4 where your man whips the slide of Mel Gibsons m9, whilst he has a mag in, and I assume a round chambered.

I think we try it everytime we get our hands on an M9...just cant happen...

    Noted!
Although when I had my dreadlocks and wore my full face mask I was told I look like predator running around HRTA. So I might be fcuked here :D.

Well thats slightly worrying, but as far as I can tell my batteries are fine.
And I desoldered the speaker about an hour after I opened the bloody box.

were they round nosed rounds doc or pointy? the 5.56 is actually a small projectile, the majority of the round is a casing that gets spent out the side. only the little tip gets fired and that would look a bit like a fresh 9mm. the 9mm will usually have a flat or ball shaped tip as aposed to the sharp point of the 5.56 ball. :)

and Lethal Weapon is just a joke, what a waste of good pixels...

    :D
