    Hi,

My daughter recently purchased a dell laptop, it's an Inspiron 1525. She has dell media direct pre-installed on it, however when she tries to play a cd or watch a dvd using windows media player, dell media direct starts up, closes windows media player and then doesnt play anything at all. Can anyone advise me of any way that i can either prevent media direct from attempting to play this content or if there's any way that i can remove it from the laptop completely? I have already changed the defaults to WMP but that hasn't changed a thing.

Thanks for any advice you give me.

I'm not familiar with Dell's media direct, but is it a program you can just uninstall?

Hi topspur, I just removed Media Direct as it sometimes just started spontaneously on startup!

I used the add/remove prgrams to do it. It's listed under "M" and not "D" as I figured out after a minute or so of wondering why it wasn't listed :)

Strange how did you try to uninstall?
