Not OS, but CDBurnerXP is pretty decent

He even explains here why its not Open Source, being a supporter of OS himself

    Cdrdao: http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/

Proper open source burner. Not sure if it's very advanced though. The description seems a tad basic.

' Cdrdao records audio or data CD-Rs in disk-at-once (DAO) mode based on a textual description of the CD contents '

yeah infraRecorder seems to work well - Not a windows user myself, but when asked recently by a friend for a foss replacement for Nero, a little research found infrarecorder which they said worked perfectly.

You're not going to find a huge amount of FOSS stuff in this area sadly, I don't know why but most of it seems like shareware. I've had Infrarecorder for quite a while but eventually dumped it as I had a lot of issues (could've been just me though, who knows).

I could recommend Alcohol, but you say you want light-weight with no features (which is exactly what I'd be after myself). I mostly use this in combination with this. The second one of those links is an absolutely excellent little app - it just burns, does absolutely NOTHING else.

I second InfraRecorder - does everything you'll want, as fully featured a disc burner as you'll get, as much as payware gives cept' it's free and open source. Has a little compatibility trouble with burning FLAC audio files to an Audio disc but thats all. Brilliant burner.

ImgBurn - Excellent CD / DVD burner, but not open source. Have to say though, to a first timer I'd say the interface seems complicated - so many options, but eventually you'll know what you need and what you don't need to look at.

    +1

I used to use CD Burner XP, until repeated failures + bad UI made me switch. I much prefer this now. (If you want music support, make sure that you get the mp3 addon)
