Driving route from Edinburgh to the Higlands area

Hi. Please move if this is the wrong section. So getting to Scotland Edinburgh on the 17 late on in the evening. So will be in Edinburgh for a night may stay for a second night comming home from Edinburgh airport on the sunday 21. So people what I am looking for would be a route to take from say the 19th with stop offs…

So people what I am looking for would be a route to take from say the 19th with stop offs along the way would like to get as much in as possible.

the road from edinburgh to inverness is amazing in early spring when there's still snow on the peaks. not too sure about now though, but i'm sure the scenery would still be amazing.
