Hi all, just wondering does anybody know the going rate to supply & fit an alarm to a car these days ? Just bought the wife a 02 Corolla (new shape) with central lock & want to get some extra security. A bloke called Eddie Kellet done my last 2 cars but I believe he has emigrated, does anybody know who took over his work or could suggest a good installer ? Thanks in advance.

for a basic alarm i would imagine about 200euro, maybe a little less.

    something like this :

    Hornet 742T - €200
This Hornet security system will wrap your vehicle in protection, with the most sophisticated electronic technologies available today,
including the Stinger® DoubleGuard® shock sensor,
    Revenger® six-tone siren and Failsafe® starter kill.

    Features include -
    4-Channel Security/Keyless Entry System
    Clone-Safe® Code-Hopping®
    Failsafe® Starter Kill
    DoubleGuard® Shock Sensor
    Revenger® Six-Tone Siren
    Door/Boot/Bonnet protection
    Includes Two 4-button Transmitters

Upgradeable to Dual immobilisation for €40

Thanks kceire, I was thinking around that price as the 2 cars I got alarms on by Eddie Kellet cost €160 each & he done an excellent job. He used to do all the alarms for the main dealers around Dublin & when he emigrated another bloke took over his work & charged me the same. The problem is he gave me his number but I lost it a while ago when I got a new phone ?? I know alarm prices have gone up but alar*s.ie are quoting €320 for the same alarm as I've had fitted to my cars. I've seen these alarms on Fleebay for €80 + postage €20...
