I'm interested in buying one of these tower defense games. Which is better?

I played savage moon demo and thought it was okay. No demo for PixelJunk monsters though.

I also have crystal defenders but i'm not fond of it and it has the annoying music from FFTA.

I've gotten past 5 levels of savage moon and now i'm completely and utterly stuck. I've almost torn out all my hair in frustration.. If you want a frustrating game go for SM :P

I would go with Pixeljunk Monsters, as the co-op is great. If you're going to be playing on your own,...eh.. probabaly still Monsters :)

I have both, Pixeljunk Monsters all the way! Savage Moon is too-frustrating and a bit fiddly and awkward in terms of controls and presentation. Pixeljunk Monsters has just as much, if not more, depth and simpler controls.

Gummy theres a Monsters demo on the US psn store, iv been playing it for months cause im too cheap to buy the full game :P

Didn't like Savage moon, though the UI was too complicated and it was difficult to distinguish the bugs from the terrain, over all just not fun.

PJM is the way to go.......

They are both great games [Have both]. SM wasn't too hard before they patched it. If you run the latest version of SM, it's extremely more difficult.

I completed SM on the initial release but can only get to the 10th moon with the update and cannot complete it.

VERY VERY addictive game. Vengeance mode is bloody marvelous and would love to see this mode in PJM.

Have both and would have to pick PJM mainly for the coop and satisfying gameplay.

Like others I found SM very difficult, I completed it but on a few levels I very nearly pulled my hair out. I also find the icons for the next wave hard to read, I never know what they are sending next most of the time so can't prepare for them. Also the camera controls overly complicate things.

Plus a major irritation is at the start where you are forced to watch the creeps coming out of the ground, losing complete control over being able to build turrets.

PJM is difficult, but I think it's a different kind of difficult to SM. In PJM you will fail if you don't have the right strategy and tower layout, timing isn't so critical though. In SM it is all about the timing, changing between shields, attack power and money, building turrets, destroying them... etc. Where you place the turrets isn't as important as when you place them. This is what frustrates people as near the end you will have mere seconds to switch between 4 or 5 different menus changing things, upgrading things and then building and destroying turrets to change the flow and course of the creeps, it's not forgiving either, one mistake and it's game over.

Like I said though, the coop really added to PJM, and with the expansion and now trophies it really is a must have PSN title.

You can turn this off from the main Options menu.

Myself and my girlfriend finished all the levels of PJM with Rainbows on all levels. We haven't moved onto Encore yet because of the nights of sleep we lost first time around,

    *doh!*

Cheers for the heads up. Was thinking about bashing through it again to unlock some more trophies.

Same here, got all rainbows. Only annoying thing is that the trophies are all SP. I got so used to playing in coop with the OH that it's not fun playing on my own for them. I found Encore a lot better. They mixed it up a bit so that you can't always dominate the level by using flame and lasers.

Also, in PJM, never underestimate arrows, a fully upgraded arrow tower is lethal.

Note : If you turn of the tutorial in the options menu, you can still play the first few maps but won't get the tutorial trophies.
