Hi, I'm new to the paypal thing and this question has prob been asked before so apologies in advance,
I want to purchase a item of Adverts.ie and the seller is in Laois and I'm in Dublin so were going to deal to paypal, just say I don't get the item am i covered by paypal like i would be if i bought it through EBay,
    THANKS :)

nope, ebay will only pay you the money back if you pay tyhrough ebay.
There is no protection when you buy privately... other than the fact that you can make a buyer complaint against the seller, which will be automatically closed, and if that seller gets enough complaints like that against him Paypal will look into it.
but that doesnt help you atall

Paypal is not instant setup as far as I can remember.

    1) You register with them.

    2) Paypal appears on your next credit card bill

    3) On your next credit card bill there will be a special code beside the word "Paypal"

    4) Use this code to finalize your registration -then you are ready to use Paypal.

I am not sure whether Laser is accepted by PayPal.

You can't use Laser with Paypal, and it will take about a week to transfer money in from a bank account.

All those confirmation codes are longer than four digits on the 3v home page.

I think i'm coming up on that figure so i'm wondering is this still the case?

It is, but if you ring them and explain that you're using a pre-pay, short-life credit card, then they'll lift the limit.

If you have your Transfer ID from Paypal, then you'd just enter that in the message or reference field, yes.

HI, do you mean the pin to activate your paypal account if so you will find it on the 3V website in your account details under recent transactions.

Hia, yeah, got that sorted, do you when the money shows on the account? they accepted the pin and that, but there's no cash showing up in the account.

Hi, I thought the money would show up on the paypal account as well but it just stays on your card but you still can shop with it now through paypal its only the €1.50 that they took to verify your card was active that goes back on to your paypal account.

That's odd, i wonder is it something to do with amounts or something.

is the option of sending money as a gift not available to Irish paypal account holders? I've been requested twice by UK sellers (not Ebay I must stress, just purchases from dudes selling car parts on UK forums) to send the cash as a gift so they can avoid the fees at their end. I have yet to find the option on my paypal interface...
