Don't be freaking out yet, lol. The best way I've had it described to me was in an old practice test.

True = Follows on logically from the passage or the statement cannot be challenged.
False = Does not follow on logically from the statement or the statement can be challenged.
Can't tell = There is insufficient information in the passage to decide whether the statement is true or false.

Most of the time it will be one word that makes the difference between false and can't tell.

Just dont think im the greatest at verbal reasoning lol !

lets just hope i dont feel the desire to throw the pencil in temper tomorrow or that would definetely be me out of the equation for life ! lol :D

    I'm the same! lol
I think everyone is in the same boat when it comes to telling the difference between the false and can't tell questions. But, its definitely not a good idea to throw the toys out of the pram in the test. The people with clip boards and facial hair tend not to like that!

Are you doing the one they give you?

Done the one they sent me its easy compared to the tests ive been doing on the internet, on the psni 1 i got 2 wrong on verbal reasoning and none on the numerical bit....but then again its suppose to be an easy practice paper compared to the real thing anyhow ack well ! i'll just give it my best shot and if not theres always next year :D:D

Good work. Some of the ones on the web are a lot harder that the real thing. Just make sure you don't leave any out on both bits. How have you been finding the times for the tests?
    You will be fine!

well done bubba 1981 let me be the 3rd to congratulate you :):):):)

Cheers guys for your notes of congrat's, yeah really over the moon, I think dinner out somewhere with the Mrs is called for tonight as she's had to listen to me moan over the past while about how nervous I was etc. They gave me a date for the AC and to be honest it's not that far away at all, don't want to give details but need to do some serious prep work now. They also didn't include a breakdown of scores for the IST so I have no idea what the pass mark is for it, I thought they would because I know they have done in the past.

Oh well, not the first time, but probably the last for me. Good luck to the rest of you guys and girls, its a good career, if you can get in... lol

    Cheers.

Got the pass letter for IST through today (I am still waiting to hear from C14) - very pleased. Friend of mine had her IST same day sadly didn't pass :(. Would have been nice to have her go through the whole crazy experience with me. I wonder will they lower the pass mark this year again like they did last year when not enough passed
My sister should get her results next week so fingers crossed for her.

Congratulations Bubba and commiserations to those who didn't quite make it this year - it's all experience for next year.

nice one MBC, havent saw you about for a while! i still have a few days. its gonna kill me. i wonder how many times i can wash my car this weekend so the time passes quicker.

I got the pass letter today too, and AC is very very close!

Very pleased to get through again, but really hoping I get in from last campaign so I don't have to go through all the waiting again this year!

Good work to everyone who gets through and comiserations to those who just miss out, keep trying if its the job you really want, you will get it.

Thanks smyff :) You could always come clean my house if that would help pass the time for you? :D

The waiting is a killer no matter how many times you've been through it isn't it :P

Not looking forward to the a/c though and it's soon. I thought I'd done well in it last year only to find I hadn't scored quite as highly as I thought. Still don't really know how and where I went wrong so not overly confident I will do any better this time round. Hmmmm well that's enough of a ramble for today. I'm off the the land of oblivion again

    MBC x

i passed last year but didn't this year. gutted. got 53 and pass is 55. thats it for me . not gonna try anymore . you need to be in mensa to get in. they keep changing the pass mark every year.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 94 ✭✭0607

Just in relation to an earlier post, I dont think theres any chance they will lower the pass mark like some of you have said they did last year.

Thats why it took them so long this year to get results out - most of the tests have now been sat, havent they? so they just made sure they got the average right this time.

just got a phonecall from the missus.

passed the IST thankfully. Roleplays a lot closer than i thought it would be, even with the others on here saying the same. ah well, least it'l get it over with.

only thing is, the venue is a camel ride away, in comparison to my last AC.

Was hopeful i wouldnt have to do it again but if im lucky enough for a call, i can't see it being before then

Hi well done all those who passed, I gather the pass mark is 55, Is that 55 questions right or 55% ?
