I've stood beside him as well, he's nowhere near 6'4 unless he was wearing platforms. I'm only 5'10 myself, but he's only about another few inches on me. So 6'1-6'2 sounds about right, because eventhough he is taller than me, he doesn't exactly dwarf me either.

He is actually 6'3 . Grew up with him :) 3 inches taller then me but i am heavier :-)

So i read (In smackdown spoilers on prowrestling.com) that SOS had another dark match, this time with Burchill.

So where will he end up?
Since Finlay was ganged up on during ECW, SOS seems like the logical choice to help him out and make up numbers at some stage

If he does get a shot on tv, I just hope that they don't give up and release him after one or two months. I hate seeing that happen to anyone. Shawn Spears was probably the worst case. He trains in developmental for years, impresses everyone, is given a few weeks on tv and then is released when they don't feel like it's working

The thing that could differenciate him from the likes of Spears is that he has a well developed gimmick/ persona. Problem with guys like Spears is that they are quite generic so when they get called up, the writers can't think of anything for them to do; regardless of wrestling ability. I don't think SOS has that issue, his main obstacle is impressing the WWE hierachy enough in the ring to get the call up to TV. If he makes it to TV, I reckon he'll be fine.

That's assuming that he gets to use that Celtic warrior gimmick on tv, which I would not bet on

I hope he does get to use the Celtic gimmick but i'd be worried about how they could develop it long term. It's something that could go over very well at first but then get stale very quickly.

It's something I don't want to see... but I wouldn't be suprised if Vince brought him in against Finlay using the whole North V South Ireland angle.

Although looking at the current product, he's more likely to use him as Hornswoggles big brother :)

sostube would be a good idea for his website. I was on it the other day and its a pity it wasn't up to date. I saw Jon Cutler has photos and loads of current stuff up on his.

Seeing as how they're dragging up the cold war again with Kozlov, the above is not as unlikely as you might think.

I see they're calling him Davis now maybe Vince is a Snooker fan and he can come to the ring with a Cue instead of a sword and change his finisher to the firey white hand and have the snooker ref as a manager

    What next

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭The Cannibal

    Davis? Really???

No point in changing his name if it is going to be something worse. Why not just shorten it down to Sheamus?

Was having this exact same convo over MSN with someone else earlier! WWE figured they'd go the whole hog with the "ginger nut" gimmick! :)

That said, David Vine could have come down and done commentary for his matches.

"... and it looks like he's going to clear the table!"
Of course... he's dead now. :(

A few reports from a houseshow match he wrestled Jimmy Wang Yang at:
    3rd match...
New wrestler named Gremace?? He was a white red haired spiked dude who we didn't know at all. His opponent...out comes Jimmy Wang Yang. Typical squash match. Or filler match i told my cousin with me. Jimmy got some typical fast moves in but it wasn't enough as Gremace wins.
    WINNER: Gremace

Third match of the night was Shannous???? Not sure who this was but was facing Jimmy Wang. This was a sleeper for us, so we got refreshments and visited the shop zone stand.
    3. Sheamus vs. Jimmy Wang Yang: Sheamus (no longer being billed as Sheamus O’Shaunessy) came out and introduced himself to draw heat. Overall, a lackluster match. Sheamus got the pinfall after hitting his finisher.

    To be fair...

    Easy mistake to make... :p

I reckon the "Davis/Gremace" thing is a mistake, it's Americans who can't hear that the announcer is actually saying "Sheamus"

I expect him to debut on ECW tonight as he will be on Superstars on Thursday and who makes their debut on a C show?!

Anyone looking for a spoiler for his match and promo on superstars click the link.

Well done Steve, knew ya had it in ya! :)

    Tidied it up for you.;)

Hope it works out for him. But that sounds like a dark match.

Apparently it was taped for TV so it wouldn't be a dark match then.

Didn't know that would be classed as a spoiler as i haven't spoiled the result of the match or even what it is....also i have no clue how to do that spoiler thing!

No problem. Just saying someone who hasn't made his debut
will be on superstars could be a spoiler
. It's no big deal but it would be like saying bobby lashley turned up in tna before it was broadcast.

Imagine featuring SOS on a show called Superstars give me a break as the promo goes COME WITH ME FELLA

Superstars is the D Show and about the right place for him except for the title as been featured on a show called Superstars would mean you did something super and I can't think of anything super he's done maybe he can knock in a 147 in the middle of the ring that's it his new finisher should be the 147 its the dive to the outside were he gets tangled in the ropes he has it down to a tee

The likes of Christian Punk, Edge and Jericho have all had matches on the show, so they are taking it serious for now, so it is no shame for him to be on it.
I know some people want him to have a feud with Finlay on ECW, god help him if they follow that through. Have you seen how many heels are on that show?
Henry, Kozlov, Zeke, Swagger, Burchill, Ryder, Kidd, Smith, he would be better of on Raw as Kendricks partner.

Also matches with Finlay often show how poor some people are in the ring.

He beat Jimmy Wang Yang in a dark match before ECW/Smackdown so he won't be on ECW this week.

How do you work that one out? Finlay is one of the best workers WWE have and has a snug, realistic style. Finlay would be capable of dragging a good match out of almost anyone!

I would imagine that anyone who works him learns a sh*t load from doing so.

I think that was his point. That if you can't have a good match with Finlay, with all his experience, that it exposes you as a weak wrestler.
