    I hope it wasn't on your mock...

    Speed = distance/time.

    First situation;
    x = 30/0.5 (I assume you meant 30, not 3o)
    x = 60

    Second situation;
    x+5 = 30/0.42 (25 minutes is 0.42 of an hour)
    x+5 = 71.43
    x = 66.43

    The question must therefore be flawed and there is no correct answer.

    And now for a question; (History); Where and when was the first Dáil?

    eh..............................................

    A man was on the network '3', received a bill at the end of the month and altogether all his texts and all his calls amounted £67.90.
    If each call was 50c and each text 8t and he made and sent 245 calls and texts in total.
    Taking c to be the number of calls and t to be the number of texts,

    (i)Calculate c and t.

    (ii) Calculate his total bill for the month minus 20% VAT.

    ;)try that.......ha

    i) c + t=245 }x-8
    50c+8t=6790 }x1

    -8c- 8t=-1960 ||||| -8(115)-8t=-1960
    50c+8t= 6790 ||||| -920-8t=-1960
    42c = 4830 ||||| -8t=-1960+920
    c = 115 ||||| -8t=-1040
    ||||| 8t=1040
    ||||| t=130

    ii) 67.90x1.2 (1.2=100%=20%)
    =81.48

    ok .. i'll do my best.icon10.gif
    (a) 1-4 / -2-1
    -3 / -3
    = -1 / -1
    = 1

    (ii) y-y1 = m(x-x1)
    y - 4 = x - 1
    x - y = 3
    or x - y - 3 = 0

    (b) (i) 3x - 4y + 7 = 0
    3(-1) -4y + 7 = 0
    4 - 4y = 0
    4 = 4y
    y = 1
    h = 1

    4x + 3y - 24 = 0
    4k + 3(0) -24 = 0
    4k - 24 = 0
    4k = 24
    k = 6

    (ii) 3x - 4y + 7 = 0
    4x + 3y - 24 = 0

    3x - 4y = -7
    4x + 3y = 24

    12x - 16y = -28
    -12x -9y = -72

    -25y = -100
    25y = 100
    y = 4

    4x + 12 = 24
    4x = 12
    x = 3
    y = 4

    so point r is (3,4)

    (iv) slope of p,r = 4 - 1 / 3 + 1 = 3/4
    slope of r,q = 0 - 4 / 6 - 3 = -4/3

    3/4 x -4/3 = -12/12 = -1

    slope = -1 so they're perpindicular, so they're at 90 degree angles

    (C) Wasn't bothered repeating whats written in the book..but all u hav to do is prove congruent triangles . the rest is simpleicon10.gif

    General Bonaparte was a general in the French army. He proclaimed himself emporer, and as such France had gone full circle from being an aristocracy to republic and back again.

    Easy
    Metamorphic rocks - Sedimentary or Igneous rocks changed due to extreme heat or pressure i.e. granite/marble
    Igneous rocks - formed when liquid magma cooled and hardened (basalt)
    Sedimentary - Made of sediments of fossilised former life forms i.e. fish (Limestone)
