It's a frikken disgrace the way people are leeching on the "labour".

Anyone who cannot see that is blind.

I have two eyes in my head.

It's a frikken disgrace the way lizard people trying to sew the seeds of a lizard takeover of the free world.

Anyone who cannot see that is blind.

now i must admit that i'm not that old (37) but i do remember when i was younger we had a lady in our road who used to wander around in her pj's during the day.

it stuck in my mind because it was the frist person i knew who was put into a mental home. :D

no one else round here would dare to wear them in the street for just that reason.

of course these days when i walk my kids to school i see another lady who has perfect hair, makeup and freshly ironed pj's dropping her kids off in a large jeep. it takes her longer to drive there than it does to walk.

it also takes as much effort to get up, put on fresh pj's and makeup and go to the school so why not just put on clothes instead.

i guess shes on the game and is dressing for work ;)

Right well id love to argue and defend myself and the decent pj wearers out there but unfortunately for me i've to go do some work. I was jus tryin to say that not all people ya see in pj's in your local shop is a scumbag and out to rob ya, it might be a decent hard workin person like me :) bye bye

Haha would ya really like to know ;) its not like i go the shop in skimpy nightdresses, my pj's are like tracksuits, full lenght bottoms, t shirts and a hoody so thats much different to a man in boxers.

Then why not just wear a tracksuit when you get home from work feeling tired?

imo it seems like attention seeking behavior

I admire your courage to do it though =p

Maybe this statement was completely unrelated to what went before, he just forgot to embolden or italicise it

I hav went the shops in my pj's, they'd be clean ones. Im not scum of the earth, im jus comfortable in them and if i wanna go the shops in them its no one's business. My hair and make up is always done so its not like i do be in bits. But now in all fairness i would never go the pub or on a bus in them, jus my local shops or chippers or that.

Thats dandy, but you cant get bent out of shape if people look at you in certain light.

Thing is, you wear make-up and do the hair etc to look 'nice' but the truth is you could look like dog sick and not one person would take a blind bit of notice once you had threads on, wearing PJ's in public is a magnet for the stereotypical attention you are rebutting here.

Heh he, no basis on reality you say.

Buddy, smartass comments like that only leave you open for ridicule.

    Don't take people for idiots.

Buddy, I'll not rise to your trolling, however I'm sure you think this state's economy is enhanced by pj wearing chavs as your posts suggest.

I'll leave it to others to figure out who the idiots are here.;)

You'll change it when shops start banning people in pajamas like they're doing in england.

Yeah true but people are just jumping to conclusions about the girl in question. I could just as easily say "Oh flutt has time to post on boards.ie during the day. he must be leeching off the social" It's total nonsense though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,575 ✭✭✭✭FlutterinBantam

Buddy, you and your ilk who apologise for these kind of people need to get with the program.

I notice people here are great at calling obvious facts "sweeping generalisations".

Facts, buddy is what I call them, facts, dogs in the street stuff.

    Wake up man.

I wasn't referring to "the girl in question" I was referring to people who walk around all day in pjs.

If you see a group of adults in hoodies hanging around shopping malls all day, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to conclude they are not contributing to normal society.

On the basis of probability......... jeeesh.

Fair enough. My point still stands. Jumping to conclusions.
If you see a group of adults in hoodies hanging around shopping malls all day, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to conclude they are not contributing to normal society.

Or that they work nights or that they have part time jobs or any number of other explanations. I don't know about you but I've never had a 168 hour working week.

I did work nights for a long time though. Hanging around shopping centres was never my bag really but if it had been how I wanted to spend my spare time, I could have. I would have fit nicely into your leechers bracket despite paying tax and PRSI.

So yeah. You're jumping to conclusions.
On the basis of probability......... jeeesh.

On the basis of probability a lot of them probably are scroungers. That doesn't make it a fact. What's pretty nasty about this thread is that the girl in the OP is probably identifiable to herself and possibly people who know her and she's been labelled a scrounger without any proof.

Hey, he's not your buddy, pal!

    He's not your pal, guy.

    On topic:
So, some people like wearing PJ's in public? Who gives a fcuk, really? To say that they're all scumbag criminals is disgraceful, I'd have expected better from you Degsy. There are people who might say the same about you based on where you're from, where you live and where you went to school.

Serious amount of discrimination going on but seeing as it's against "scumbags" it's apparently deemed acceptable. I know this is AH but still........if this was directed towards knackers / polish / blacks etc. there'd be uproar.

What your talking about is an argumentum ad populum or appeal to the people and it is a logical fallacy.

Or, more simply, because you believe that it is true does not make it so.

    Facts, indeed.

Y'know this thread really epitomises the malaise and stupidity that is modern Ireland.

You can't critisise any grouping for fear of drawing down the ire of the tree huggers and crusties who abound amongst us.

Go to any town in any county in Ireland and you will find a pub populated all day by people who seem to have no recognised source of income.

I know in my area there are people who inhabit the pub from opening to closing almost 7 days a week and I know they do not work.
I do not have to be a rocket scientist to see this, I have two eyes .

Now the crusties and tree huggers will say,hey maybe they won the lotto,or maybe they cashed in on their shares in Adamantec.com or maybe they are secret scientists working for NASA on a new rocket propulsion project.
Maybe they are, I have no proof other than fcuking common sense.

Now the bit that bends me out of shape is that as a taxpayer, I am paying for these people and basically these punters are giving the finger to society, they have a good thing going and depend on misinformed and idealistic people to defend them.

The flutter is not impressed and will always call it as it is and not trolling or smart arsery will change this opinion.

What on earth does that post have to do with someone who is seen leaving a pub at 6pm and about whom we know nothing other than she wears pajamas?

Your own views are the ones that are idealistic. The ideal that all people that don't fit into your view of society are therefor scummers and scroungers

    Exactly.
Anybody with any sense can see whats going on,society is half fcucked because of scroungers, parasites and scumbags.
There's a demimonde of people who dont give a shiit, dont work and behave however they like and there are still middle-class idealists who support them.

As somebody said a while back "Reclaim the streets?Go and reclaim Sherrif st,it needs reclaiming and you'll be thanked".
