Nissan Patrol Airbags

Anyone out there been in a crash in a nissan patrol jeep, and if so did the airbags engage??? was in one which hit a tree direct at about 30-40mph, would of thought the bags should of deployed but they didnt. is this a common defect??

Has a Nissan dealer looked at it? An airbag wont go off in all impacts - If the on board computer deems the airbag may do more damage if it sets off, then it wont allow it to.

Was the impact front, or to the side or to the rear?
