Open water Dublin/Leinster

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas for good open water swim areas in Dublin/Leinster. Have gone to the 40 foot before but was wondering where other people might go, Canals, Lakes, Rivers etc, Thanks

if you have easy access to the coast, I would stick with the sea. It's cleaner for the most part. There are a couple of threads in the swimming forum with links to spots along the dart line.
