    Whats best way to lay patio slabs they are the manmade type approx 400 x 400 , will be laying them into a lawn, as a path to a shed

    On lean mix sand/ cement on compacted hardcore, to a depth of 4- 6".

    Flat, definitely flat. You could try on there side, but unless you work in a circus, getting to the shed could be an issue down the road.
