    Hello everyone!

My Fiance and I have recently began planning our wedding. We both have our hearts set on finding a venue anywhere in Ireland that is situated on the coast and has sea views from the funtion room.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Jiminie :)

Try Burke's Armada hotel in Quilty, Co. Clare. They have added a huge extension and the dining area overlooks the Atlantic. Have no connection, but had a look at it last Sept. & was very impressed. Google the, I'm sure they have a website.

You should check out The Four Seasons Hotel in Carlingford, Co. Louth. It is not THE Four Seasons. It overlooks Carlingford Lough. Not sure of the view from the function room but worth checking out.

anywhere along the west coast will more than likely have a sea view (a proper one) .....just google hotels in kerry/clare/mayo/galway/donegal....or go up north.

    Best of luck

I only know some of the Cork options.
The views from Inchydoney are lovely (pm me and I can send you pictures) but I think it's overpriced. Another option in Cork is Garryvoe. Room looked a little tired when we were last there but I've heard they are doing it up. The rest of the hotel was fine. I've heard good things about the Rectory in Glandore but have not been to see it myself. In the end we decided to go away to get our sea view.

would def NOT recommend this place. Their website looks lovely, but its a real let down. I went there for a look myself and was VERY disappointed. Add in that you can't see the beach from the function room only the local halting site( !!) and this would not be suitable. Even worse they are rip off merchants - far far too expensive for what they offer.

OP - is it the ceremony you want overlooking the sea, or the reception? My wedding ceremony is in Ardgillan Castle in Co Dublin, which is situated on a hill, overlooking the sea. The views are stunning, I must say - even on a cloudy miserable day, the view is gorgeous!

Deerpark House Hotel in Howth is lovely. Not on the sea but a lovely view of Irelands eye too.

Also in Bray theres the Esplande Hotel.

OT, but I didn't know they did weddings there, who did you book it through, Fingal? Is it just the ceremony there and then you are going elsewhere for the reception? Sorry for the quiz, I love ot there!

If I were getting married down the country, I'd book the Cliff House.
They just got their first Michelin Star and the food is supposed to be amazing.

    +1 for park inn mulranny

The church across the road is so beautiful, and the hotel is fabulous, if you have a large wedding party that are travelling to the wedding and want to stay on they rent holiday style apartments in the same hotel so its perfect for younger relatives or family groups......not to mention the view is beautiful!

I just got married in the Cliff House hotel in Ardmore and I would highly recommend it. If youre going for the traditional irish (huge) wedding it wouldnt suit. It holds 80 if you book out the whole thing, or 40 if you go with the smaller restaurant room.

The Eccles Hotel in Glengarriff, Co. Cork is looking out over Garnish Island. It's a hotel with character, beautiful views and some of the best countryside at its doorstep.

The Royal Marine hotel in Dunlaoghaire overlooks the harbour and is very well served by bus and dart services to Dublin. Best of luck to you both - I hope you have a fantastic day.

    + 2 :D

Also can recommend the Esplanade in Bray as a place to stay anyway... view from the room was amazing... could see the sea lying down in bed!

Connemara coast hotel also had a great view from the function room.
