Alright I think I've figured out what the problem was. (Because I'm still having problems despite thinking it was resolved.) Well figured out as in I know what's wrong but don't know why!

My private forums disappeared from my subbed list, and this happened to another user too. I just subscribed again and it's ok now. But I'm not getting email updates when there is a new post in a thread I'm subscribed to that is in a private forum. Also when there is a new post in my private forums I don't see the asterisks next to the forum name on my subbed list. That's all, I think. :)

Fair enough but I didn't change usergroups. Oh, would it happen with a name change?

Just thought it might be the name thing because both myself and the other person that I know is having the same problem got a name change at the same time.

Hmm, it's possible that you just didn't select "instant email notification" when you subscribed to the forum. Unsub and resub (selecting the appropriate option), might have the desired effect :)
