    Hi

Anybody know of someone who'll do a reasonably priced de-fret job on jazz bass neck in the Dublin area?

    Cheers

There's the usual suspects in the sticky. Although you'd probably pick up a fretless mighty mite J neck for less than it would cost to have it done well, that way you can revert back to the fretted neck as and when you see fit.

I have one of these Mighty Mite ones, it's a nice neck!
The fretboard is made of synthetic ebony (ebonal) so it's more hard wearing against roundwounds. It gives it a great mwahhh sound.

Yep, have a fretted maple one myself, fundamentally they're decently built and would certainly be up to the job.

Nice one J. I've ripped out the frets myself as a sort of challenge. If I make a mess I'll pick up a new neck. Does the mighty mite website sell the necks direct or do I have to go to a retailers website?

They don't sell direct, but lots and lots of shops sell 'em online.

Here's a place selling some on eBay.

Ebay is usually cheapest. I think mine was about €90 all in.
